SSD+HDD setup directory layout?

Also if I put the directory back to the default location would I be able to just run you preferred method Lnx2Mac? If so I may just do that because I have just about everything the way I want it. Thanks again.

EDIT: Another question I had was what format should I make the larger HDD? Is there one that will work with both Windows and Mac for Time machine and general data files (vids, music, and pics)?

OK so I did your guide, nice and easy to follow.
Here is my thing, I had everything on a 60GB SSD so I moved my Users folder to a partitioned 333GB HDD it all moved over there I see it I can open it all is well except the SSD still says it's full. The reason I wanted to move it was to make space on the SSD. Did I miss something somewhere along the line?
Quick back round info, This is the third time I am doing an install. I was done with iMac and wanted to move that system account info to the hack. I forgot I had set up my WoW folder onto another drive on the hack so SSD was only at about 20GB. Well WoW folder is on main HDD in iMac and I forgot to remove it for transfer lol. Just figured it out.
So all in all it's working out great, next test will be Parallels because I have to put a virtual Win 7 folder on the user folder for OSX and now I have it moved I won't run into space issues :D
Thanks very much!

Thanks Lnx2Mac. Appreciate the help. I originally went with the easier setup of using system preferences/accounts to do this, but will probably have to start over to load 2 O/S' on my SSD. Is there a noticeable difference in performance between the methods?
It's not about performance, but some applications don't work properly when using the SysPrefs|Accounts way...

Thanks again for all the help.

Definitely, and if you understand the steps taken, you might skip the copying part, and just create/update the mountpoints.

You might want to set-up a FAT partition for sharing files, or look for alternative NTFS ReadWrite options on OS X.
If possible, a networked shared drive would be convenient as well.

Good Luck,
Lnx2Mac

Thanks. Just waiting for my stuff to come in and I was wondering what the best way to do this was.

Yeah so far so good, Parallels throws the temp Win 7 file and all of its working files with the users folder so I don't lose anymore space off the SSD.
Thanks again.

I was wondering one more thing.... When you change the directory can you still have program files save to the SSD if you wanted to? Is that what the guide Lnx2Mac provided is doing? I decided to just install Windows on another HDD and now have more space on my SSD. Just curious.

Yes, of course.
