I just dropped $400 on monitors this month and want to get the most out of them. I currently have one plugged in via HDMI and one via DVI to HDMI (double HDMI not working) on my GA-Z77x-UP5 TH motherboard. My friend, after approving of my new rig, asked if I considered using the thunderbolt ports, in tandem with mDP/Thunderbolt to HDMI adapters to use my monitors. Has anyone tried this?
If I can sell my GTX 660 that i originally bought for my customac (doesn't work with OS), I plan to put that money towards a GTX 760 and use its ports. Until then, could someone help me with this question.
Build:
Mother: Gigabyte GA Z77x UP5 TH
Chipset: Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge
Bootdrive: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X series 8 GB
Monitor: 2 x Asus VS239H-P IPS Monitors
