[SOLVED] Ventura/Sonoma - Random (Scheduled PM) Wake from Sleep

Sadly it didn’t work, it’s midnight for me and the pc just woke up. Rip

it seemed to work for me. A scheduled "userwake" in the morning occured, no wakes at night and no more CSPNEvaluation wake requests are set.

@sourcelocation you rebooted after you made your changes?

This CSPNEvaluation wake is a nightmare, waking a M1 macbook every 5 minutes

worked for me last night, 8 hours till I woke the machine with my mouse. 1st time my hack slept thru the night since upgrading to Sonoma.

@Lensjocky,

Yup seems conclusive at this stage, my system has slept for 12 hours for the last two days with no wakes.
Once again the Hackintosh community fixes something that Apple broke.

Cheers

yes, i can confirm the fix to be working too, two very long sleep cycles with no wakeup (8 hours and 12 hours)
Finally i can use my USB Speakers again :)

Yeah, very good findings, this should be called "deep sleep"!

I have a doubt, for example this fix could stop a macbook pro of being located through the app "Find my", when is in sleep mode?

@guindillas,

The term "deep sleep" on a Mac is used as a simpler term for Mac laptop's 'hibernation mode' where the content's of RAM are saved to an encrypted file on the SSD, in these modes the system then enters a 'deeper' sleep powering down the RAM and other non essential sub-systems. When the system is woken the contents of the hibernation file are read and written to RAM.

Yes absolutely, by disabling all darkwakes you will stop tracking features such as find my mac ... etc.

For desktop systems darkwakes really don't make a lot of sense IMO.
For mobile devices then features like find my mac make sense if you travel a lot.

I leave it down to the individual to decide if they want to implement these sort of 'fixes'.

in an ideal world Apple should give full disclosure on how and why macs wake from sleep and give users the proper tools/settings to be able to control them as they want.

Unfortunately that will never happen .... i guess that's the world we now live in.

Cheers
Jay

My system(Sonoma 14.1.1) doesn't wake up even if I am also getting the CSPNEvaluation events. For example,

% pmset -g log | grep "Wake Request"

CSPNEvaluation tries to wake up on 11PM everyday but the system wakes up only with the mouse/keyboard movements.

Maybe, I did something without acknowledging it, but it was not the powerd.plist. The only thing I remember is that I removed the stock widget and news widget on the notification. It didn't work. So I did this https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...eduled-pm-wake-from-sleep.323359/post-2387166. Then, everything works well.
