RehabMan, Dear all,

I rebuild my HP Elitebook G3 which installed with Sierra previously, and decided to rebuild with High Sierra these days. All went unexpected smooth per RehabMan guide, Wifi, Audio all working great!

However, everytime the notebook resume from Display sleep / System sleep, screen show broken at right hand side about 1/4 of it affected.
I can do a screen cap by OS X and it won't show the defeat, and it will resume good after I reboot it.

Graphic memory tried set at 64M or 128M but same result, any idea caused this happen?
I google around but no idea, it was running well when El Captain or Sierra...

Enclosed screen capture and the troubleshoot files.

Thank you very much!
Kent

hi, I have the same notebook as you, and would like to try installing high sierra on it.
can you please tell me which guide you mentioned you used? this one probably?
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

and any suggestion/kexts to use or similar? (I used to install osx on x86 laptops/desktops but it was some years ago..)

finally, I don't think vga out will work to use an external screen, right? ;(

tia!

before starting messing up the laptop (work computer) can you please just confirm both my LAN and especially wifi chipsets will work on osx? googling this website I think I saw both should have working kexts?

Ethernet Controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I219-V (rev 2)
Network Controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a)

TIA!

As per FAQ (and Probook guide), Intel WiFi is NOT supported.

thanks sir. I did read indeed, but the wrong place/wrong way it seems, sorry (I googled "tonymac intel 8260", found the intel wireless driver effort thread, where it says my chipset is compatible, but i didn't read a bit further where it says the driver is actually not 100% done yet)

so if my wifi is not supported think I have to give up... don't know if it is easy to replace the wifi adapter in this laptop, and even if it is when I tried in my previous HP laptop installing a osx compatile card, it didn't even boot because of not official HP HW part... ;(

will google about that and see what to do.. thanks alla gain for the answers.!
