[solved] atheros 9285 card not working on 4530s...

Hi there,

I bought a 9285 card from an ebay seller from flushing ny. I put it in the slot and it reads it in the bios, but it does not read it within osx. I have installed the dsdt patch for atheros 9285 and restarted and have had no luck. do I need a fresh install?

What do you see in SysPrefs -> Network when you press the "Add" [+] button?

Do you have it enabled in BIOS?

Does it work in Windows or Linux?

If you run MaciASL and search for 'Device (ARPT' what do you see in your DSDT?

I ran Maciasl and searched for arpt and DSDT came up, but I didn't know what to do after that.

It is enabled on the bios. Bluetooth just became functional for the first time, for some reason.

In the bios is clearly reads the correct wireless card for both bluetooth and wifi.

I am attaching the network pref page.

I ran Maciasl and searched for arpt and DSDT came up, but I didn't know what to do after that.

I was wondering if the DSDT patch was present..??

yes, i did click on the dropdown, it does not include wifi.

here is a shot of the bios page showing clearly it recognizes the card... thanks for your help.

the dsdt patch was there when I typed in device (arpt, but the text on the side was a lot and I did not understand it.

Post your DSDT and ioreg. http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html

Also, test it with Windows or Linux. It could be you got a bum card?

Your DSDT does not have the AR9285 patch. Here is corrected one. You might want to look at what you did wrong.

Unzip attachment. And copy DSDT-arpt.aml to /Extra/dsdt.aml.

it works now. thank you very much, and sorry for the hassle. What I did was I ran the probook installer for ml and installed the patch, but that did not work. do i have to patch it in some sort of safe mode? sorry, i am a real noob, but now my probook runs perfectly! thanks a lot!

Your DSDT does not have the AR9285 patch. Here is corrected one. You might want to look at what you did wrong.
