[solved] Alienware 15 R2 install EI capitan&install Mac Sierra Success

Not open for further replies.
I am using travelassong EFI,
I installed NVIDIA web driver but still it doesn't change from IG
and I used nvda_drv=1 boot flag too.

And the power button doesn't work without plugging in the charger.

Attach ioreg as ZIP: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Provide output (in Terminal):
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu
kextstat|grep -y applelpc
kextstat|grep -y applehda

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (press F4 at main Clover screen before collecting). Please eliminate 'themes' directory. Provide only EFI/Clover, not the entire EFI folder.

Attach output of (in Terminal):
Code:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

Compress all files as ZIP. Do not use external links. Attach all files using site attachments only.

Mobo: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Note: When specifying your bootloader, if using Clover legacy, please be sure to specify "Clover legacy"). Specifying "Clover" will be assumed as "Clover UEFI"

Attach output of 'lspci -nn' from Linux Terminal.

You didn't provide 'lspci -nn' output, but I can see the data from ioreg.
Your profile/signature has no details on your laptop hardware. Please fix, as per request.

Nvidia not supported in Optimus configuration.

Yeah,I am working on the signature.

And I know it doesn't work in Optimus configuration
But It never gave an output throughout HDMI

Yeah,I am working on the signature.

Your signature and profile is still wrong. It indicates Nvidia only, which is clearly NOT the case.

And I know it doesn't work in Optimus configuration
But It never gave an output throughout HDMI

You should check in Windows to see if the HDMI is attached directly to the Nvidia hardware.
That will tell you which direction to go...

I you are using the same laptop (Alienware 15 R2/Alienware 17 R3) that means:
-Your graphics consist of Intel HD530 + Nvidia GTX9xx in an Optimus configuration.
-The HDMI video/Audio output is controlled by Nvidia.
-The USB-C/Thunderbolt output is controlled by Intel.
-In our hardware case we are lucky to be able to run Nvidia AND Intel at the same time.
-So far, only if you boot with HDMI video out connected you will see Nvidia instead of intel in 'about this mac' otherwise it will say Intel graphics (but the Nvidia graphics will still be detected in System Information/Graphics AND in the Nvidia web driver list of devices).

Are you using the newest EFI from travelassong ? I believe he had Nvidia disabled at a certain point from the ACPI tables, and that's probably the culprit.
Also what Smbios are you using ?

Try With these (Archive.zip), copy them over the ones in ACPITables(1).zip
Delete everything in Clover/ACPI/Patched and copy over the new ones.

Side question: You have your Laptop plugged through HDMI right ? Because the Nvidia Graphic won't load unless plugged over HDMI.
I've tried to follow this as instructed, but unfortunately got into an un-bootable configuration. Had to boot with a liveCD USB, and recovered the EFI folder with a backup. Darn. Will hopefully try again with your guys' help.

Here's my Clover.zip folder with Themes removed.
And the kextstat and kextcache outputs.

kextstat|grep -y acpiplat:
13 2 0xffffff7f830db000 0x66000 0x66000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (4.0) A29C7512-D3A8-3AED-9721-3A5FF1A32EB2 <12 11 7 6 5 4 3 1>

The other ones, applehda and appleintelcpu return zero output.

Can't seem to find where to run `lspci -nn`. Is this something I'd need to run from a Linux LiveCD of some kind?

I've booted with HDMI plugged in to the external Dell monitor, and can see the nvidia driver has detected and initialized it. If we're just dealing with optimus issue, maybe I have to boot with the lid closed so the BIOS kicks on the external display? But I'm not sure about it being Optimus or if it's a MUX on the R2 line. Under Windows when I disable intel HD 530 driver, then I can plug in the Oculus and run it in direct driver mode, so that does work, which is unlike the optimus buffer copying behaviour.

Your laptopt haven't optimus but just simply dual GPU.

You should use with boot nvda_drv 1 and fix using intel platform 0x191b0000, but it have a problem at left corner, a glitch but it don't make you fell bad while working :D

Actually, I'm working with raw files of a Cinema camera (red) and rendering continuosly while editing. My laptop seem a rock.

But I've a problem:
- Audio (sometimes it work and sound work perfectly, sometimes doesn't work and the volume icon display "prohibition"' icon.
- laptop sometimes won't boot without charger plugged.
- Thunderbolt work with TB3 to TB2 of Startech and Ethernet Adapter's Apple but don't work with a Lacie rugged TH2 or don't boot with Blackmagic Mini Monitor TH2 and if you unplug thunderbolt's grid my laptop (while turned on) restarts suddenly.

Okay good to know that this model doesn't use optimus..
So nvda_drv=1 is there.

Also in Devices I have a set for configuring the Intel HD 530.

PciAddr
00:02.00 "Intel HD530"

CustomProperties:
model=Intel HD Graphics
hda-gfx=onboard-1
device-id=1B190000
AAPL,ig-platform-id=00001619

I've tried disabling this device, but it'll simply boot to a black screen. I connect using screen sharing and checked to find the primary graphics as "Intel HD Graphics SKL CRB". nVidia device is detected and Nvidia web drivers are loaded too, but the Intel appears to connect first but leaves the screen blank.

I've got an external monitor attached to the HDMI port, but the laptop lid is open because I have to hit the power button.
