Yeah I've seen that chart on MacObserver, they didn't list a source for where they got that information though, so I'm not sure I believe it.

Why would all of the 2019 iMacs have iGPUs, except for the most expensive model?

I have used the iMac19,1 SMBIOS on build 18E2034, CPU still Unkown and appleid.apple.com detects it as 21.5 iMac...

AppleInsider claim the processor is a 9900K (in the comments at the bottom of the page)

This same issue is actually happening with real iMac owners too. I’ve been discussing it with a few on a different forum.

Hopefully it’s not actually a 9900KF.

iMac 19,1 -> i5 8500B ,i5 8600, i5 9600k, i9 9900k.
iMac 19,2 -> i3 8100B, i5 8500B, i7 9700B.
For me iMac 19.2 CPU power management is working very well compared with iMac 18,3.

So we need the special build or 14.5 beta to run 19,1 or does the boot argument -no_compat_check do the trick?

You will need the special build.
Change to new iMac SMBIOS then boot with -no_compat_check and select recovery at boot screen, reinstall from Apple’s server the special build.

I might just wait for 10.14.5 to launch in that case. I'd imagine the special builds will merge/unify with the mainstream builds by then.
