I too have this MB (rev1.0) and processor.no dedicated graphics card.

I can confirm that the HD4000 is quite adequate for most.
I installed xbmc and streaming full HD movies from my synology is no problem. Heavy gaming is something I will not do. So I'd always test the HD4000 first and only buy a dedicated graphics card if it does not suffice.

bluetooth:

I use the very expensive :D dealextreme BT dongle $1.80 and it works perfectly:

Sleep also works fine.

Hey guys, :)

Regarding the questions,
I'm running the F10f beta bios.
It's the version 1.0 of the motherboard.

I've also switched to using the Chameleon bootloader. Just having it on a USB is very easy.

The system still freezes on network file transfers, though!
If anyone has any pointers on this, I'd be grateful because it's hugely annoying that I can't transfer files. :banghead:

I don't prefer a beta BIOS.

I have 0.9. Just copied a 1.2 GB file from my synology NAS to my OSX system, no problem.
downloaded a 640MB SW update also no issues.

Did you also test with 0.9 bios?

I use chimera bootloader from disk to either boot windows or osx.

Yeah, I've also tried other BIOS versions, no luck.

If I look at your first post, multibeast screenshot, I do not see any network driver selected. Did you do that?

SFR2 I'll be building a very similar customac soon, what power supply did you end up with? Seasonic X-series? I want a very quiet rig, R4 case coming tomorrow, 212 cooler probably, quiet fans etc. Then looking for a quiet 770. Hope you got file transfer worked out. Thats big on my list.

I still have the power supply from my original post. But if I were you, I'd definitely spend some extra money and get the Seasonic!

+1 sfr2. Seasonic PSUs are the best PSUs made. Ironically, they are make PSUs for other good brands, too, especially those with 80 Plus Gold & Platinum ratings.

silentpcreview.com and Anandtech.com have reviews on PSUs and have commented if Brand X is made my Seasonic. I recommend the fully or semi modular Seasonic made PSUs as I never use all the connections in my builds.

Hi,

I have tried all the settings that are posted here, but all I get is video distortion...
2013-10-28 20.47.05.jpg

My setup is this:
- Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H
- Intel i5-3570 (no K)
- MSI N430GT
- 2*4GB Kingston HyperX Blue
- 128GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD

I use Multibeast 6.0.0 since it is compatible with Mavericks.
I have tried with my graphics card, but then my screen just goed black, the computer stays on.
Without my graphics card I get this video distortion.
I do not really need my dedicated graphics card, so if I can get it to work without, it is fine by me. Less noise ;-)

The only way to boot up and somewhat use my machine is to boot with "-x" so in Safe Mode...

What can I do to fix this?

My Multibeast settings are:
Code:
