IF ANYBODY CAN HELP THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!

Just recently bought a:

Sapphire Radeon RX VEGA 64 8GB ~ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HCCWW9/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

Kinda new to the whole AMD graphics card on Hackintosh thing. Always used the nvidia cards and know how to do it that way.

Does anybody know what I'm suppose to do in order for the mac to recognize the card the right way?

Currently what is happening is mac OS is booting with my new AMD card but the graphics in the system profile is only showing Display 7MB and the resolution is at 1600x1200. The nvidia card I used to have was working fine with my 4K monitor and giving me 4K resolution when I booted the OS.

What am I suppose to do? Is there something specific in Clover I need to do? FakeID or kext? Currently I am not using any boot flags of any sort, never had to with the nvidia card.

I know people have said they been able to boot the Vega 64 cards OOB with no issues. Not having that type of luck.

I attached the current clover config file I'm using, if that helps.

Using macOS Sierra or High Sierra ?

Sierra boots to Desktop and gives me a 1600x1200 resolution and not recognizing the card.
When trying to boot into High Sierra like I used to... I get a pixelated screen like shown in the attachment. I can't even see my desktop. It freezes at that point.

I have a MacBook Pro. Should I attempt to clone my MacBook Pro to my Hackintosh drive and boot that way and then see if my new Vega 64 works? Or is there a simpler method, something to do with Clover, FakeID or kext that could fix all of this?

All taken care of!

Now you'll need to post in a thread where you can get support from @Gigamaxx so he will see your questions and answer them. He's the resident AMD, bleeding edge, graphics cards guy.

You can clone it no problem (one caveat, is it HFS+ or APFS?), preferably it is updated to latest version beta 8. Just add clover boot loader or you could run Multibeast 9.2 on it and check all options out and use what applies to your setup. Make sure to check the Symbios section and choose iMac 14.2 or higher. I use iMac 18.2 on my Pentium 3258 (Haswell) and its compatible.

**** For APFS you should research the clover setup of others, and find the apfsefi file to place in clover Drivers64efi folder. Hopefully you have HFS+ format on your MacBook. It is much less frustrating using HFS format.

The card should work out of box with HDMI Audio, the only hitch for now is the card is read as RX xxx in about this Mac but that is only cosmetic.

Thank you for your help. My drive is formatted in HFS.

I just tried the config file you provided and got it to boot fully except... I only receive a portion of the screen in the center (that is all pixelated). I also tried entering recovery and install... Got the same result. I did notice on the install that it seems to be the top portion of the screen.

The screenshots of system information is what I see in 10.12.6 16G29 when I boot.

Not sure what to do? Kext in specifix folder? FakeID? ???

Thank you again for helping me with this.
