Thank you!
I did get a SDD and tried to reload from scratch but it took 30+ mins to boot and was very Laggy. I also had this problem initially when loading on the Hitachi, but was able to follow Gordo's instructions of reinstalling the combo update, Bridge Helper, and MB (but NOT ATI) however it did not help this time, so I went back to the Hitachi drive as it's working very well there (Other than some Premier PRO CS5 exporting issues, but I have the same issue on the Q6600 HP m8100).
I ended up using the SSD for windows 7 32bit (uhg) install to get my old epson expression 800 scanner attached the the adaptec 2940 scsi controller working as well for my Hauppauge HVR1800 Capture card.
Once I see an edited DSDT my board I will get another SSD and attempt the install from scratch as this was very time consuming for a newbie like myself. In addition, I have alot more to test and learn within this install. Eventually, I would like to achieve some reliable power management capabilities, and a normal multiplier of x34 and will wait (as well as try and help the community) to achieve this.
The video scores are consistently over 53 fps with a Sapphire HD5770 using NO other drivers other than what is installed in the 10.6.7 combo update. I have excluded installing the ATI drives from Gordo's instructions as they cause more problems on previous install attempts, and also followed michnotes guide and installed the 889 Audio Kext's.
I believe the HD5770 drivers are purely native drivers, and what I understand, anything using native mac driver is the most desirable when setting up a hackintosh. ALSO, I think the memory and processor speed have much to do with these numbers as this video card scores are under 24fps on a Q6600 HP desktop with the same video card (Also Q6600 is running 32bit).
I love the SandyBridge i7 2600k Chip. It has amazing speed and over-clock capability. It performs 3X better than the Q6600 chips with the same or less power consumption (approx 150 watts idle and 200 watts under high cpu load). I have this working solid OC'ed to 4.5Ghz, and has totally renewed building a system piece by piece for me.
Also, what has made this a great performing system is the case, cpu cooling, and memory.
Here are more details on my hardware if interested. Most components are from Newegg.
