Hi, I hope you can help me, my hackingtosh have a problem, when I activate the parameter XMP Profile 1 in my memory at 1600 MHz, the system works properly, but when test my SSD I have seen that the low write speed almost half (276 MB/s), when I return to 1333 MHz speed up to 468 MB/s

My hardware is:

SSD: 256GB Samsung 840 Pro - FW: DXM05B0Q - Connected to the SATA 3.0 port
Processor: Intel i7 2600K OC to 4.2 GHz, (I've tested without OC and has the same problematic)
Memory: ADATA XPG DDR3 - 16GB (4x4) 1333 MHz Stock frequency, 1600 MHz XMP Profile: 1
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 F10
Video Card: MSI GTX 770 OC - 2 GB
Wifi: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 DB
PSU: Corsair CX600M

I've searched the forums for this problem but I have not found anyone else had this.

Regards

Hello,

Have you found something ?

I also have a big problem of speed with my SSD Samsung 840 Pro, the "disk speed test" gives me 320mb/s in read and 90Mb/s in write.. And I made the tests because my computer was very slow on disk operations..

So if you have some infos.. I'm interested ;)

MB: Gygabytes H77-DS3H
Ram: 16Go Corsair 1600
CPU: I7 3770K OC at 4,5Ghz
Graphic: Geforce GTX650Ti 1024MB
OSX Mavericks

Thank you,
Best,

Hi, I continued searching and have not found anything like this, I have decided to stop using the XMP, I installed Windows and the same thing happens, in your case is very low the transfer, you should check your ports and make sure that is connected to a SATA 6Gb/s port, preferably SATA0. Cheers and I will continue looking

Thanks for your answers, I've fixed the problem by removing the "overclocking"...
Now, I have around 500Mb/s all the time..

I will try the test by using Terminal, to see if it was the real speed or if drive speed test was crazy with the OC.. But I notice that I haven't disc overload anymore (under my daw)

I'm glad you already run your SSD properly, proves that the brand commands to calculate the speed at the terminal, but it is strange that both windows and OS X this is the same problem. I will keep looking.
