Hi all,

I hope this hasn't been asked before—I didn't see anything when I searched.

I have audio working on my Asus mobo line-out AND my Sentey case front panel headphone ports. However, the sound on the mobo line-out is (as expected) much quieter. I have unpowered speakers that I generally use with the headphone port on my laptop and iPhone (these are driven speakers that I accidentally blew out once; they buzz if powered by an amplifier, but work well enough at headphone level).

What I'd like to do is remap the rear mobo line-out port so that it acts like a headphone port. Is this possible? I was thinking something along the lines of this guide, but I imagine things are different on a hackintosh.

My ASUS Z97-K board has a Realtek ALC887 sound card.

Thanks!

What is wrong with the motherboard green port?

Nothing is wrong with the motherboard port, but as I said, it's a quieter line-level output. I'd prefer to have my speakers plugged into the back instead of the front, but they're just about inaudible if I do (unless I crank the equalizer in iTunes, which distorts things).

It's not dreadfully important, but if you knew of a way to do it it'd be nice.
