I have this board and set it EXACTLY like this and my system never gets to the point of install... It just sits there and stops loading. I've tried every possible combo on the Chimera screen and still nothing!!
I've tried it then walked away for some time and now I want to get a hackintosh running again!!! I have BIOS F.14 I beleive
While not necessary to update the bios (since the F4 is UEFI) it looks like there have been a slew of updates all the way to F16j beta. I've personally had good luck with beta bios from GB, so wouldn't have a problem upgrading - just save the F4 bios image in case you need to go back. Other than that, the Z77 supports Sierra and High Sierra. There are some kext patches you should consider (see MacMan's posts) and fixes for USB (also MacMan posts). I used iMac 14,2 but other definitions (depending on your display card and monitor) should work equally well. Good luck.Hey Guys, Just found this Mother Board specific thread and even though it is old I have just purchased this same GA Z77x UD5H board to replace a failing Z77 DS3H. I guess this is a bit of a cross post but I'm not getting many responses on my previous post so I'll ask the specific questions here.
The Z77x UD5H MB I just got is at BIOS version F4. My intention is to try and get Sierra installed on this machine which was running El Capitan prior to the old board failing. I'm looking for advice. Do I need to update the UD5H to one of the many newer BIOS versions? Does Sierra work well on this board (with an ivy bridge 3570k CPU)? What system deffinition are you guys successfully using?
I really hope this post generates some responses even though this is an older system I think it has life left.
