So, in summary of this thread... so far, nobody has made a hackintosh with PCI-X slots, i7, running PT 9 HD ?

Is that right?

Not exactly. I managed to get a system up and running with only one Core Card and an ASUS P8B WS board, but then again, one card probably won't get you very far, so yes, unfortunately there is no working HD2 or higher hackintosh build available as of yet.

This afternoon I have personally carried the Sandy Bridge PC to my friend's studio for a complete test with HD2 system.
Now I can confirm that my build works very fine with Digidesign HD cards.
The test was done with:
GA-Q67M-DH2
i7 2600
4 GByte Ram
NVidia GT210 1024MB
Snow Leopard 10.6.7
Protools HD 9.0.2
1x core HD card
1x process card.

Looks good! I'll probably give it a try myself as I still have all the Sandy Bridge stuff lying around here. It's just a pity that there are no standard ATX Q67 boards around, or at least ones with USB 3.0 built in. A third PCI slot would have been nice as well, but I guess you just can't have it all. ;-)

Do we have a first Sandy Bridge PCI success story? Congratulations! :headbang:

This thread is GOLD. Thank you. Now I'm calling every single pc hardware store in Bucharest searching for that Mobo. And there are hundreds of them... wish me luck ;)

Hopefully I'll report back here in a few days (or weeks), with the second working Sandy PTHD2 hack, on what seems to be the only possible sandy configuration right now.

Progress!!! Sweet!!

OK,...where the hell is the rest of the regular ATX q67 boards?

This is what I would need:

Q67
Full 7 slot ATX form factor
USB 3
TI Firewire
3 Consecutive PCI slots
Hackintoshable!

Forgot thanks:
VooD and MaLd0n
helped me to make build work.

Update on my side - there's still a snag with the DSDT on the ASUS, but it's almost there. I'm finishing mixes for an indie album this week, then I'll have time to get back at it.
