Problems with 4530s Xu015UT ACPI or HPET or DSDT?

4530s: XU015UT#ABA:F0A bios
Using iBoot, Install to 1 partition HFS+ GPT
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Install DVD Build 10A432

Visually things are good, it boots up, I can get to About this mac and Terminal and the like, Ethernet works, speakers just crackle

Reboot, just to test, boot up goes fine.
------------

OK, Time to install Update Helper and reboot with iBoot

Seems to boot just fine

OK, now time to run 10.6.8 and Installer:

OK, On the: you must reboot now screern, switching to the installer:
Installer, and the combo update just crashed. running the Probook Installer again.
Choosing Chimera; Bios F0A, 10.6.8
Took iBoot out of the drive.
------------
Now, rebooting from that and seeing what happens
Get a screen with a shiny apple logo, and the spinning thing:
:You need to restart your computer........

Ok, lets run iBoot and see what happens
The apple on this screen with the spinning thing is Grey, and....
Nothing ever happens., just stuck here.
------------

Ok, going back to the chimera installed on the hard drive and booting with -v

Booting with -x -v gives:

-x -v DSDT=no
Gets me into safe Boot mode, so , definitely something with the DSDT?

DSDT=no
also gets me in, so, maybe the DSDT in the installer doesn't work good for my version of the probook, even though it seems to be the same model as the others.

Anyone know what I do to work on this?

I really don't know how to start patching it and all.
I can get into the DVD to get to Terminal, so hopefully, I can fix whatever is doing this, but I need some help on where to start

I'm having similar problems in Lion and Snow Leopard when using dsdt.aml version F0.A
Something wrong.I used my old dsdt.
Perhaps, blueking will release another dsdt for us to try.

Heres another peice of info.

I bought this laptop about Nov 29, and that version, the installer worked fine on, but the battery was bad, and I swapped it out for a new laptop. All the model infomration was the same on the box, but something is probably has a small revision difference, and I don't know enough to get it up and running.

Ive seen some posts about this same problem on Lion, does anyone think I should even try paying for it and seeing what happens?


Can anyone who is using an XU015UT#ABA, and is working post their default DSDT, so I can try to compare it to mine, If you still have it available?
Perhaps one of the ones used to generate the F0A DSDT in the installer?

I put Ubuntu on a USB drive to extract the DSDT, just trying to follow a guide I saw on the internet.

The very first line of the extracted DSDT is an error message:
ACPI Warning: NsLookup: Type mismatch on HASH (RegionField), searching for
(Buffer) (20100528/nsaccess-731)

If I move that one into a comment block, I then get 201 more errors when trying to recompile it, as a test.


Is this normal? Should I cross post over to the DSDT forum?

use my F0.A dsdt.aml for now. I have everything working except battery. Didn't have time to see why.
At least it should give you working system. I will post dsl and another one tomorrow if you still need it.

I just ran it through the DSDT compile tool, and yours compiles fine, but mine errors out on some lines that are the same as yours!

This is the real confusion!!

Did you see my note about how the first 4530 I used worked fine?
But when I swapped it out, this one started getting a panic.
All I know is that I could boot with DSDT=no

also, I cannot boot from iBoot after I install 10.6.8 and chimera to the HD
