My tip is: Do NOT buy any 6670 card. 6850 is little bit expensive, but it WORKS.

XFX HD6670 works perfectly (QE/CI and 6670 in profiler) with AtiConfig=Ipomoea

Anyone can contact lakay user for me. I have the same exact ATI HD 6670 from Dell as Lakay's card. Like to get the ATI6000controller.kext from lakay. Or anyone has the same card.

Here my card info

My Sapphire 6670 1GB GDDR5 works superfine via HDMI with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and AtiConfig=Ipomoea. It also worked fine via VGA with AtiConfig=Pithecia. In both cases, bootloader deteced AtiPorts=3 which is correct (the card is equipped with HDMI, DVI, VGA outputs).

The only problem is so-called "ghost" VGA-display, which can be seen in System Profiler, but has never existed in my configuration. But anyway, it doesn't influence anything, so I just don't pay attention to this.

i installed kext from here
http://www.osx86.net/view/2339-ati6000c ... -1_...html

and added the following lines

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>-v AtiConfig=Pithecia AtiPorts=3</string>

ran kextutil and rebooted.

i could boot in to 10.7.4 just fine, and could run fifa 12 just fine, where previously it would crash at startup. also, system profiler correctly recognized 6670 as opposed to 6xxx before this fix.

also,
ioreg | grep ATY
| | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@0 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x10000024e, registered, matched, active,$
| | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@1 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x10000024f, registered, matched, active,$
| | | | +-o ATY,ATY,RadeonFramebuffer@2 <class AtiFbStub, id 0x100000250, registered, matched, active,$

however the problem is that i could not run my screen at any resolution other than 640x480. i have the dell 2412m which runs at 1920x1200 but that resolution is not available in system preferences. any ideas?

As you can see in red, the default buffer is running... so that's why you can't run any resolution.
