i7-2600k OC'd to 4.7ghz @ 1.33v, HD5770, 6gb 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance CL9

17312

For daily use run it at 4.6ghz @1.33v

16446

http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/518790

How stable are these settings? I've tested the 2600k using my board and the P8z68 deluxe, and haven't gotten it to run at 4.6 under 1.38V (24hr prime95 large in-place fft). It KP'd at 4.7 at the same vcore! My findings seem to be in line with those of powerpcg5. Toss some of your magic our way!

5353 on 64-Bit

There is something wrong, right ??? Anyone could enlighten me on why am I getting such low score??

i7-950 3.07ghz
ga-x58a-ud3r rev 2.0 FF
6gb Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz triple channel

Might have to do with troublesome powermanagement settings (C/P states, EIST, etc.). I got a really low score that way too. Using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, and c3/c6 states off now...

Thanks...
WOW... I am now over 10 000 with NullCPUPowerManagement.kext... But Sleep is not working anymore.... Will try to find another alternative to achieve the same effect but keep Sleep. Hope there is a way.

After a couple of days of taking notes and trying out things, I finally solved my issues with 44X overclocking.

Previously, when o/c to 4.4Ghz, computer had problems waking up from sleep. It will just loop forever between trying to wake up then going back to sleep again. SOLVED!

Also passed Prime95 Torture and Geekbench Stress tests.

My new GB score = 15,717

LION - 10626
SLeopard -10568

So, they're both similar. No over-clocking, just stock......happy with speed, but will get a better aftermarket cooler (e.g. Corsair liquid cooler)....when I transfer everything into my old G5 case!

Cheers

Eco

Have you achieved those speed with or without NullCPUPowermanagement.kext ?? I have the same component as yours and I am trying to find a way of getting rid of this kext which kills sleep on my system.

Thanks

Hi eyeris10,

I am NOT using NullCPUmanagement.kext on either system - have never touched it (I have 2 separate drives installed). What kind of speeds are you getting? I've never bothered with overclocking as I feel my CPUs run a little warm.

Oh...and the machine sleeps and wakes with no problems and running 64 bit on both.

Regards

Eco

That is EXACTLY what I am running. Similar scores too. Glad to hear all is well.

Underclocked my Q6600 from 3.2 GHz to 2.66 GHz on a G41MT-D3V following the crash of my EP45T-UD3P, after years of faithful service. Processor now runs stable at 0.996V, tested over a 24 hour Prime 95 large in-place fft test. Idles at 30C, and maxes out at 43C. Geekbench scores are still in the mid 6000s, slightly down from the high 7000s.
