pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

As I have been facing the same problem since I put my build together, can you confirm which message and log file showed the RTC alarm you referred to?

In my case, I have generated the ssdt, upgraded to the latest clover v4558. Details of my build are here.

Without doing anything special from a command line perspective, the build goes to sleep which turns off the fans. Wakes are not so random as I never got the system to sleep for hours like I did on my previous builds (other hardware though but just saying I know it should work).

Overnight, it looks like the system woke up shortly after midnight and then I am not sure how to interpret what happened around 2:12am.

See messages from powermanagement logs:

Code:

I go to sleep as well as a human being ;)

Then a few minutes later, at 00:10:26.185906 the RTC/Maintenance message, not sure if it is the same as yours:

And finally the section that I have no clear understanding on the way to interpret except that it looks like the system woke up, sleep failed and he whole system restarted which is confirmed by an uptime of 6hours and 27 minutes at 8:30am in the morning while I am writing:

The system did not have to wake up at 7:49 as only the display was off when I got to access it.

On the USB front, I have an Apple USB wired Keyboard connected to a non-powered 4-port ANKER USB3 hub. The Apple Keyboard has the logitech USB dongle on it for the MX1000 I use.
I had also a 2013 Nexus 7 tablet charging from the ANKER USB3 hub. I will disconnect the table and do further testing.
The ANKER USB3 hub is connected to HS06/SS06.

Just noticed the update of the 20th of June from Pastrychef on the first post. I will apply the same and report if there is any difference in the behaviour while asleep.

With nothing but a Keyboard and Logitech mouse connected, I experienced a crash overnight. See below:

Is it fair to say Bluetooth might be a problem here?

It's interesting that the two people who have reported the mouse stutter/HDCP issue, you and ChaosMonkey, are both using Dell U2718Q monitors... I used to have a Dell P2715Q and while the image quality was great, the monitor's firmware was always a bit buggy.

Yes, it's a very weird issue, only present when all three conditions are met: [U2718Q], [DP port], [Vega Card]

Yes.
Why do you have these two kexts ?
Code:
as.lvs1974.NvidiaGraphicsFixup 1.2.7
org.tgwbd.driver.NullCPUPowerManagement 1.0.0d2

I just maked a new clean install on my NVME SSD, after i copied the EFI etc. can i just play in a Time Machine Backup from my SATA-SSD ??

That can work. It will probably be faster if you use Carbon Copy Cloner.

pastrychef , hi

can you post your pci listing ? have you anything there ? thank you

If you are talking about the PCI section of System Information, no. Nothing shows there. That's normal.

Yes.

Reviewed the contents of the kext from the r3.4 of the AMD files from pastrychef.

It certainly looks like it. Of course, Bluetooth is also tied to USB.

I experienced the crash at boot time, so it is not related to sleep/wake cycle but a BT/USB crashing the build.
Will continue to investigate.
