pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Oh, I was missing Lilu.kext. Deleted everything related to previous fixes, repaired permissions, rebuilt cache, added Lilu.kext, rebooted. Works now, thanks!

Since you didn't have Lilu.kext installed, I'm assuming you also did not have any of the other Lilu.kext plugins installed. It's worth looking in to some of the others because it can really help get your system running better.

IntelGraphicsFixup.kext - if you will be enabling IGPU to get Quick Sync and AirPlay
NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext - since you use a GTX 1050 Ti, this can help fix a lot of things
Shiki.kext - this can help enable some feature on your video card and can help if you experience random iTunes crashes.

Thanks, I'll check them out. Btw, does your BCM94360C2 chip allow you to use magic mouse in BIOS? I'm thinking about purchasing a bluetooth keyboard and I'm not sure if I need a magic keyboard with USB connectivity or not.

Yes, Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Pro keyboard both work in BIOS. But I have my BCM94360CS2 plugged in to my motherboard's M.2 slot. Another user tried with a PCI-e adaptor and he was unable to use Bluetooth devices in BIOS.

Thanks for this great tutorial. I can't seem to get overclocking stable. The system reboots during a geek bench cpu test.

Could you save your bios settings to a file and upload them? It'd be interesting to see if I've done anything wrong.

That's a bad idea. Every CPU is different. If you watched the video and followed his guide to overclocking and are still experiencing instability, you will have to add voltage or lower your overclock. In the video, he starts with 1.350v. You can add 0.010v at a time until your system is stable. Just don't exceed 1.400v and monitor your temperatures. Keep temps below 80C.

No. The SSDT for USB needs USBInjectAll.kext to work.

Hi @pastrychef

I was doing my SSDT but I have some confusions. Under IORegistryExplorer, I can only see 14 HS** under XHC. No SS** ports. Under another section named PXSX, I have 4 ports, HSS1, HSS2, SSS1, SSS2.

If I plug USB2 or USB3 devices in the same port, both are recognized. The way I know the port is working for USB3 is when my USB3 device lit blue light, white if USB2 speed only.

Am I doing this right or there's something wrong why SS** are not showing.

Screenshots attached.

Thanks. Screen Shot 2018-04-25 at 8.21.48 PM.pngScreen Shot 2018-04-25 at 8.00.33 PM.pngScreen Shot 2018-04-25 at 8.00.48 PM.png

Thanks for this info. I would have used it to purely test to see if I had incorrectly configured it. If it had still stalled then it is a problem with my setup, not with how I copied the settings.

Some of it is confusing as the settings are a little different to the one in the video (he is using a different board). Also, with XMP he says to select NO in the confirmation box, whereas my confirmation box specifically states not to press NO if you are overclocking :/

I have it at 4.7ghz 78c which seems ok for now.
