Overclock doesnt Show under "about my Mac"

First Off thanks To Tony and Mr Janek for all they do for us....

Now my question Got everything running quite nice on lion 10.7.2 as my rig is

GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3
I7 2600k
16 gigs corsair memory @1600mhz
212+ cooler

now when I go into bios and over clock i just up it to 45 and it gives me a 4.5mhz reading in bios for turbo boost when I load into osx it still tells me its at 3.4 in about this mac what am I doing wrong in the bios to make Lion still see the i72600k at 3.4? it seems very odd

I tried so many tweaks in bios im just lost

As it has been stated many times before, It will never show your overclock, use geekbench to test before and after overclock. This will tell you if its working right

I must admit to being confused by all this.

I've got an i5, 2500k with a default of 3.3GHz that I've oc'd to 4.5 and edited smbios.plist to match.

Geekbench seems to think it's running at 205MHz.

I have exactly the same problem..

2500k overclocked to 4.4
about this mac doesnt go beyond 4.3
GB shows frequency in 100s??

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, can some one give a link or step by step instructions of how to get your Hackintosh to display the processor speed in as many places as it's supposed to.

for example, I've OC'ed to 4.0Ghz.

I'd like 4.0Ghz to be displayed in every menu where there are CPU desciptions and in every program that does the same (i.e About this Mac, Hardware Overview,Geekbench etc)

I've read somewhere that OSX86 Tools are not to be used.

Therefore, what is the method of changing this information? (Smbios - where is it, how do you edit it, with what program)?

Install Chimera 1.9.2 as I fixed the overclock speed detection code in that version.

The maximum clock speed that OS X will report is 4.2 GHz as of 10.7.4.

@rwlkr you have i7 2600K, Kaneda13 has i7 860, this is a older chip, so the default clock is different.
