OS X 10.8.4 Update

Downloaded the software update 10.8.4. I installed without any problems except I reinstalled Audio ALC 898, then repair permissions then reboot. Everything else is intact like Trim Enabler, Intel LAN etc. Tried to put the computer to sleep and woke it up, and to my surprise it worked! with just one hit of a button on my keyboard. I tried it in 10.8.3, sleep don't work. Finally, i got the courage to flash my BIOS with a patched one and as expected speedstep worked. Looking forward for my apple broadcom wifi card and bluetooth module to come. So far so good!

WWDC is tomorrow let us see what Apple have in store for Hackintoshers.

What version of IO80211Family.kext did you use as the base for the device id injection (right click file in finder and get info)? It needs to be ver 5.3 to be compatible with the new airportd file in 10.8.4 (hidden file in /usr/libexec folder size 332kB, date created 2 May 2013)

In 10.8.3, I had ver 5.2.2 of IO80211Family.kext with corresponding earlier version of airportd (size 324kB, date created 4 Feb 2013). This was upgraded to ver 5.3 after the combo 10.8.4 update.

If you use a version of IO80211Family.kext earlier than 5.3, you need to use the older version of the airportd file as described by "brielle" here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4154491?start=75&tstart=0 , otherwise you lose ability to connect to wifi without disabling security (see comments by "Gunny Sack" and "MacMunfordGB" and don't forget to repair permissions, clear caches and reboot).

I have the TL-WN881ND and added device ID "168c, 30a4" into 'Info.plist' inside IO80211Family.kext / Contents / Plugins / AirPortAtheros40.kext. For the TL-WN781ND, according to http://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN781ND_v1, the device ID is 168c, 30a1. For TL-WN781ND ver2, it is apparently 168c, 3118 http://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN781ND_v2

Edit: Looks like someone has already done the edits for your card with IO80211Family.kext ver 5.3 http://www.osx86.net/view/3913-10.8.4_12e55_io80211_family_ar9285.html. He uses device ID 168c, 2b (TL-WN781ND ver1)
Thank you very much. This works, but only on WPA (WPA2 doesn't work). In addition, the Wireless Diagnostics Utility has limited functionality. But thanks again, at least I can connect to the internet.

This is trash. Benchmark tests even slower than with 10.8.3. Memory leaks worse than with 10.82 and 10.8.3. I swear I will go back to Snow Leopard.

Anyone running Quadro K5000. The card was throttled with the 10.8.3 drivers.
