IMO, today, it's a matter of preference. When OS X was young, using the Combo Update ensured that your update would be complete; the incremental updates were sometimes flawed, and users lost faith in the incremental updates. I always used the Combo Update to be on the safe side.

That being said, this time, I used the incremental 10.10.3 update from the App Store successfully. Time will tell. However, I've downloaded the Compo Update just in case...

I recommend experimenting with alternate framebuffers. Sometimes updates alter port configurations on AMD cards. Good luck.

Looks like Mac Pro 6,1 is "Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6" and "Config1" means to use only DisplayPort for graphics.

This issue its for all graphics cards or only nvidia? I'm using ati HD7750

It's only for MacPro6,1? the other macs with config1, config2 are ok? Because with macpro I have spinning beach, but with iMac i have no video...

I update, first time boot really slow, but now seems like everything is ok.
Doesn't need to re-patch the kernel.
