Hello!

This is my first time building a computer.

I have:
1) a cool ATX case
2) a fancy pants x270 mother-of-a-board (mobo)
3) a CPU
4) a GPU with an attached cooler
5) a CPU cooler
6) a power supply
7) RAM (which is memory!)

What goes in first? What goes in second? What to look out for? Any general advice is appreciated.

I install the PSU first and route the cables. Then, I populate the motherboard before putting it into the case (setting it on top of the motherboard's antistatic bag on the motherboard's cardboard case):
- Install the processor (being careful not to bend socket pins);
- Install the processor cooler per directions (I use Arctic Silver cleaner and thermal paste);
- Install the memory.
I then install the motherboard in the case, route and insert the PSU's two motherboard power cables to the appropriate sockets.

Next to install is/are the drives. Do this before installing the graphics card to allow for more hand room in the case.

Finally install the graphics card and cooler. You'll probably have to install the cooler, if it's not already installed, before installing the card in PCIe Slot #1.

There are many YouTube videos on PC component installation. Newegg has it's own videos here: https://www.newegg.tv/c/Builds/65648625--

Good luck! ...and a belated welcome to the Forum

Thank you for the kind welcome and wonderful advice.

Looking forward to the build and contributing here....
