Have you tried a DVI-D to HDMI adaptor?

You can get something like this either on-line or in Maplins
[AMAZON-uk]http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003VR8OZW/[/AMAZON-uk]

Will keep you posted

Yeah DVI-D works. Well, worked. Been playing a game in windows and now tried to boot and it won't do it. It comes up with Apple logo and does not even reach the progress bar.

Not good. I wonder what it is. I had this problem before with the nvidia drivers. At least that's what I think it was because restoring from a backup I did before I installed the drivers worked fine.

This was with the GTX 650, which is compatible with Yosemite native.

I need to investigate and I'll let you guys know.

I'm guessing you installed that new 10.10.1 Yosemite update. So you'll need this driver.

Boot using -x and remove the NVIDIA driver you've currently installed. Download the driver above and install which I think will force a reboot. Boot using the nv_disable=1 and open the NVIDIA device settings and select the NVIDIA driver. Reboot again (you may have to retry the nv_disable=1 process again at this point) and then that 3rd time you boot your video card should be working.

Ensure the following lines below are added in org.chameleon.Boot.plist - located in the Extra folder on the root of the drive.

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1</string>

All 3 video inputs (VGA, DVI & HDMI) work on my card.

Thanks for the reply jay. You have the exact same card as me. This isn't to do with the driver. I installed the right driver. The one for 10.10.1 that nvidia just released.
This is to do with me booting clover efi. Are you using clover?
If the answer is yes, are you booting clover via efi or non efi?
I have never had a problem with the nvidia web drivers and chimera. In fact, in order to boot OS X now I had to use the unibeast usb key in order to boot.
How did you install clover? What options did you use?
I think I will have to remove clover from efi to to non efi.

I'm using Chimera.

I did try to use clover but I wasn't successful getting the video card to work. At one point when I changed many options I couldn't get back into the OS so I re-installed Yosemite and stuck with Chimera till I can either find a guide or documentation for the way I need to configure Clover on my setup.

I might have found the solution to our problems. I will try it later on and if I'm successful I will let you know.

It has to do with injecting an hex string as clover is booting. Pretty much like we used to do with chameleon. Define the properties of the card.

What I don't get is why it worked once for me? Makes no sense.

That would be great if you share your settings for clover.

Just a heads up Yosemite auto-updated to 10.10.1 which I have now disabled the auto updating setting.

It evidently broke the current NVIDIA driver so when the machine rebooted OS X wasn't recognising my video card. I could still use my displays via the video card but it was low-res and chuggy. When I tried to update the NVIDIA driver during the installation it would stop and say it couldn't detect my video card. I got a little worried the NVIDIA wouldn't install but fortunately the user cccip has posted up a revision of the driver with the hardware checking off. After installing and rebooting everything came back to normal.
