No luck at all with High Sierra Hackintosh

Hi everyone.

I'm hoping you can give me some guidance. I built a fairly simple hackintosh installed high sierra and it ran well until it was turned off. Then it wouldn't reboot (no smoking icon!) So no knowing what to do I just reinstalled and again it worked fine until it it was turned off - again, it wouldn't reboot - but this time it's not recognising the USB drive at all. I've repeated the install steps (I used this guide even thought my build is a simplified version of his).

I'm a total novice just want this working so it can render my c4d projects. Focus is on simple install solution that's reliable.

Any ideas?
