I was thinking the same thing.... So i downloaded the new HW-Monitor and it's better but still plays about some times......

So you could be right!!! :)

How did anyone edit their AGPM kext file. I did the edits, but when my machine boots it says it cannot load the kext because of signing issues. I have read that files in /System/Library/Extensions do not have to be signed. What gives?

Well I installed the newer HWMonitor and it solved my GPU PM problem. It now down clocks and when i open up vlc it clocks up...when i close it down the gnu clocks down again. gtx 670

Which version did you install? I have updated to version 5.3.901 but it didn't fix the issue on my machine.

I installed 5.3.901 and all is working also using Mac Pro 5,1. its not on MB its from http://sourceforge.net/projects/hwsensors/. I've tried the heaven benchmark and cuda-z and both step the gpu up to 1.12ghz and then when I close the apps the GPU steps back down from 1.12ghz-1.00ghz-800mhz-324mhz and it sits at a cool 31 degrees celsius.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'm using iMac13,2 sysdef myself, which worked beautifully on 10.8.x. Just can't be arsed to experimenting with different sysdefs at the moment.

I changed my system to 5,1 and although it still gets stuck once in a wile my GPU has got back the 20% loss in performance i had since the Mavericks update....

so there is still something wrong. As it still freezes.
