Sorry to bump up an old~ish thread, but I'm also having issues with the same motherboard.

I used to run 10.6.4 and had sound working just fine. Recently did a clean install and upgraded to 10.6.5. Also updated my bios to F14. Since then, no sound. System Prefs -> Sound shows my Logitech USB headphones (and can output sound to them just fine), and also shows 4 digital sound outputs, but not the older ("headphone jack-style") outputs, so I can't use my speakers :(.

I've tried the following:
- Running a DSDT from the database (for this motherboard and F14) -> Kernel Panic
- Removing AppleHDA and installing the 10.6.2 one from MultiBeast - changes one of the digital outputs to some other type, but still no audio
- Installing the LegacyHDA and HDAEnabler for my soundchip (ALC889) - Kerlen Panic during bootup (at the Apple loading screen).

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

I fixed my audio issues. The problem was being caused by some kind of conflict between the LegacyHDA + HDAEnabler and VoodooHDA (which I had installed previously).

VoodooHDA-only worked for USB audio, but not built-in audio.
VoodooHDA + LegacyHDA & HDAEnabler = Kernel Panic during bootup.
LegacyHDA + HDAEnabler only (removed VoodooHDA) = everything works!

Sweet!
