No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi folks, I have only just installed the latest updates for my machine (Haswell running Mavericks 10.9.5) and after restarting it seems to have knocked out my sound.

I am using a mobo: GA-Z87X-UD3H (and my socket is 1150).
I have the sound chip: Realtek ALC898

BIOS: 10b

It has been a while since I worked with Hackintosh troubleshooting info, mainly because everything has been running so smoothly up to now. So I am now a bit rusty.

If anyone can figure out how I might be able to get my sound working again I'd really appreciate any help you could offer me.

I assume that I'll need to use Multibeast, but I thought I'd better check here first, in case there have been some important changes - and to make sure I haven't overlooked anything.

Unfortunately I cannot find an "Extensions" folder in the System "Library".

Thank you for reading

Apologies.
The sound icon on the top right of the OS menu was greyed out, and there was no way to adjust sound.

When I checked in System Pref. there was nothing listed in Output.
Also, Sound Effects were greyed out and unclickable.

Videos and YouTube played with no sound.

However... since my last post I have downloaded the latest version of MultiBeast (6.5.1), and selected DSDT-Free and my sound setting "ALC 898" and nothing else, and my Hackintosh now has sound once again.

When I first set up my Hackintosh, the Multibeast I used was 6.3.1

Thanks

I'm very new with hackintosh and clover so please excuse me if I'm missing something obvious. I've done a lot of research and googling but couldn't produce any sound still.

So its an El Capitan kext and I had Yosemite installed and thats why it wasn't working? I upgraded to El Capitan and still having the same audio issue.
