No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Status
Not open for further replies.
I have the Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD Rev 1.0 mainboard.

According to the Gigabyte webpage the codec is ALC888B.

Sierra was installed with Multibeast with Clover 2.4.4063 in Legacy mode.

As Audio Drivers I have selected ALC887/888b at this time (but have tested all 887 and 888 combinations in the last 5 hours).

But no matter what I do System Information shows no Audio devices at all.

When executing audio_cloverALC-130_v0.1 or audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0f3 I get this:

OK to patch

Confirm Realtek ALC887 (y/n): y

ALC887 v_0x100202 (Legacy)

Audio ID: 887 is not supported, continue (y/n):

Please help!

See Post #1/Problem Reporting; attach all requested files

I'll attach more files once my Hackintosh is able to boot again.

I have executed audio_codecdetect.command and it suggested I try a fix from https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALCInjection/tree/master/ssdt_hdef

I did it by copying the aml file to the patched folder in clover EFI, Rebooted, and clover doesn't boot to desktop anymore.

I'm absolutely new to MacOS/Hackintosh. I have a time machine backup, but will need to find out first how to restore it without completely reinstalling the OS.

edit:

Turned on verbose in Clover and when booting the Sierra partition I get right away:

Error loading kernel cache (0x1)

I've reinstalled Sierra from USB, and recovered from Time machine.

I have now attached all the data I could gather. Please tell me if I forgot something.

audio_codecdetect says Current audio ID is 887, but only 1, 2 or 3 are supported.
In Clover configurator under devices I see the Audio ID as 1 and ResetHDA is checked.

System Information | Audio displays no devices.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Edit dsdt/layout-id
Find: 0x77, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00
Rplc: 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00
Compile, aave, install.

Remove Clover/ACPI/Patched/SSDT-HDEF-1.aml
Restart.
Run cloverALC.
Reply with new files.

@toleda

Thanks a lot! Did what you said and sound works now!

Here is my setup:

- i7 7700 3.6
- Asus H270+
- Realtek ALC887 Audio

I'm unable to detect any audio devices. I have read several guides, but I'm perhaps too much of a noob to understand where to start. I have tried every audio option in Multibeast to no avail.

Thanks for the help.
