Ok i'll try to install 10.8 then update to 10.8.5 , some people here got it to work with 10.8.3 I know it's not fully working but at least I need PT HD3 and PTHD10 to work with PCIe without issues.

Also as to ThunderBolt - many of the Clone motherboards that have TB ports will be limited to the initial ThunderBolt Spec 1.0, which if I remember does not support video over TB.
And Apple is reviewing TB 3.0 for release.

So I would not but to much support on TB and for a Hack would suggest you find a MB that has NO TB but works for everything else.

Info that is helpful is that PCIE 3 specs has better 4K video bandwidth than The new Thunderport on the new Mac Pro. (the Coffee can).

I have had a working System for over 4years using EX58-UD3R,Protools 10,HD 2 PCIX and SL 10.6.8
but I would like to step up to ML or Mavericks.

But when I tries Mavericks or MLI get randomly errors like -6004 and -9162 otherwise everything
is the same.

I suspect that it´s a PCI problem for otherwise everything works fine except PTHD.
