Maybe someone else will chime in that knows, but the whole idea is going to hinge on getting the Nvidia 7600 to work. I have no idea if it is supported or what making it work might involve (I tend to avoid discrete cards because of battery life issues).

As you may suspect from a model from 2007, the battery is already f*cked, with an autonomy of 20 minutes. Also, I don't move this computer that much, i have a netbook that weights around 1kg and has a 12" screen, much more portable than this 17" 3.4 Kg beast.

is it that bad though? will most of the apps work on it?

I really wasn't considerin anything above 10.6 or 10.7. It's a 6 year old computer.

Leopard is not supported here.

But has it ever been supported? Is 10.5 too bad for hackintosh computers? Should I just forget about it?

I don't know the history of this site wrt versions of OS X. But 10.5 is not supported by this site at this time. You can read the rules yourself: http://www.tonymacx86.com/faq.php
