New install for ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 w/i7-13700K CPU

Wow, I've read all 49 pages of this thread.

Lots of good stuff in here. Big thanks to @MrMinimizer , @Leesureone , @D-an-W , @taranta
In comparing Efi's folders, kext configs, and reviewing them in OCAT, I have a better understanding of what's going on.

Can't wait to start tweaking stuff and get the best performance out of this build.

Thanks everyone.!

Question About:
OCAT > Platform info > SystemProductName.

Has anyone else noticed a significant difference in switching Platform info
from: MacPro7,1 Intel Xeon W-3245M CPU @ 3.20 GHz

to: iMacPro1,1 Intel Xeon W-2140B CPU @ 3.20 GHz

before I get wild and start changing a bunch of BIOS stuff & wondering why crashes happen....
I just left BIOS setting at on stock setting, default (Load optimized Defaults) Vt-D enabled, xmp off.

TESTING..1,2..1,2..TESTING...

GEEKBENCH6: better benchmarked numbers on the iMacPro1,1 -vs- MacPro7,1
May not be much, but 500 points is 500 points ?eh?

CENIBENCH R23: better benchmarked numbers on the iMacPro1,1 -vs- MacPro7,1
250 point difference
  • BUILD INFO:
  • ASUS Z790-PLUS TUF Gaming WiFi D4 Intel LGA 1700 ATX Motherboard
  • Intel Core i9-12900K
  • Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply
  • Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe Interface PCIe Gen 4x4 Internal Solid State
  • AMD Radeon Vega 64
By all means this build is not the latest, greatest, full spec rocket..
but it's no slouch either.! for what I do, it's 3x more than I need.
I do some video editing, work with Photoshop, Illustrator, some light cad work
Priority #1 Goal: To get over 30,000 in CenebenchR23
Priority #2 Goal: To get over 14,000 in Geekbench
Priority #3 Goal: To get the BIOS updated and tweaked,
and oh... maybe make sleep work & rest of the system stable

( FACTOID: MacPro7,1 and iMacPro1,1
the only two SMBIOS that allow for dGPU to handle workload including
background rendering and other tasks the iGPU would handle. )

Disclaimer: I'll probably be back to edit typo"s

Great, glad you are up and running. Keep an eye on your boot times, the Samsung drives have issues with trim and it will start to take longer and longer and have possible data loss.

Ten/4 Driver. I do most everything from, and saved to a NAS
I'm not terribly worried about data loss on this machine "knocks on wood"
it was my second choice, as MicroCenter was sold out of the sn850x

Noticed a weird quirk. On an Apple LED Cinema Display.(Mini Display Port)
After waking from sleep, Unable to just brightens up. It goes down, but all the way up only seems like 50% brightness. with auto just brightness, it does go full bright (if I shine a flashlight at the iSight) but returns to about 50% brightness . I'm not sure how to form a query to search that.
Restarting the machine fixes the issue until the screen sleeps again.
AMD Radeon Vega 64
P.S. Audio works just fine over USB or DP

Would this thread cover this $350 microcenter bundle?

Intel Core i7-12700K

ASUS Z690-Plus TUF Gaming WiFi DDR5

GSkill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-5600

Micro $350 bundle
Should be similar to this:

BCM_4350C2 How to get Native Bluetooth working.

You do not need a Fenvi card, nor do you have to swap out a module.
just add a few kext files, change config.plist ..

notes:

Location is HS14 - 0x14600000 / 1

Does work in the BIOS or OpenCore menu though?

Does work in the BIOS or OpenCore menu though?
Do you mean using a Bluetooth keyboard to enter the BIOS or navigate the OpenCore menu?
