- Powermac G5 case : Local Craigslist
This is the first G5 case mod hackintosh that i have ever built. In my opinion the G5 case is the very solid and good looking case for desktop. I like its look so much that i start to did some research and came across to tonymacx86 site. After reading so many post/photos on this site i finally decided to pull the trigger to built one. My purposes are to build a window pc in a G5 case and try to keep everything look as close to the stock G5 as possible.
i'm on mission hunting for a G5 case....after days of searching....found 1 on local Craigslist for $40 buckerru..
Gutting out all apple's internal parts ....bare bones
Ordered back plate and mobo's tray... use an old ATX mobo to do laid out to see where thing goes..
in the meant time gutting out G5's power supply ....
so with ATX power supply...
Transffering......
Back plate, mobo's tray arrival.....fitting...measuring (twice)....cutting (1)....
Drilling..riveting time...
Mobo's tray and stand off insert...cables routing...
Mobo, Cpu, Ram , video card ...etc moving in to their new home ....
Wrapping up.....
Add fan's grill and dust filters....
Mission accomplished..... everything run smooth and quiet at it should be...Window 8 and snow leopard (10.6.8) run very smooth and fast. My built can't run Snow mountain because the motherboard and graphic card aren't supported .
