Hey for you guys I have an update. It is possible to install Mavericks and update straight from apple to 10.9.5 with the clover boot loader. What you have to do research some supported cpus, and then get the CPUID for that given cpu. Then, in binaries patching menu in the clover options menu, there will be a box that says: Fake CPUID: 0x0000000I'd like to try and install 10.9 or 10.10 on a G3258, so I'm curious to hear your progress with getting Mavericks/Yosemite on this processor.
That is where you put the CPUID you found, in this format: 0x0xxxxxxx
The bolded part is where you put the CPUID, I used a Sandy Core i5-K: 205A7 so I would put it in like this: 0x0205A7
Now you can go back to the menu, and boot into the installer for mavericks or an install on an external drive. Then, just do like normal, and once install completed (or Upgrade) go into clover and do the cpuid change and boot into install, and congratulations! you made it into mavericks. I think it could work with yosemite too. By the way the CPUID you put in will tell OS X what cpu you've got, so if you want it to say Core i7 instead of Core i5, change the cpuid in the same format as before but replacing the id with that of a supported core i7. Good luck, and I hope you too get it to work. By the way it would also work on legacy BIOS since clover will act exactly the same whether it's initialized from the UEFI or BIOS. If you do it from BIOS then it will take longer for clover to load, so a UEFI install is preferable. If you have any issues performing my steps then do not hesitate to post on this topic.
Greetings and Happy Christmas and New Year/Whatever you celebrate
