My CPU fan never ramps down in speed, despite having enabled EIST and C3/C6 in BIOS. I have a
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard running an overclocked Sandy Bridge i7 CPU.
Here is what I see:
$ sysctl hw | grep cpufr
hw.cpufrequency: 3492000000
hw.cpufrequency_min: 3492000000
hw.cpufrequency_max: 3492000000
hw.cpufrequency = 3492000000
hw.cpufrequency = 3492000000
The MSRDumper kext yields this:
kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(35)
kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 35
I performed a DSDT install (Bios v12) and used "Sandy Bridge Core i5/i7 Overclocked" for SSDT options and Mac Pro 3,1 as my System Definition.
I have no idea why no other PStates are showing up. From other posts, I should be seeing 8, 35, 36, 37. Any ideas?
