Mavericks on Acer Aspire Timeline U M3-581TG?

Status
Not open for further replies.
I installed again Mavericks. I have spent the Multibeast with the following options:

Intel Graphics Patch for Mixed Configirations
FakeSMC HWMonitor Aplication
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement for 10.9.0
Macbook Pro 8.1 definition
USB 3.0
VoodooHDA (the most recent version)

At the end I deleted all kexts of *GeForce and *NVDA. I reboot without installing the Chimera bootloader. Boot from the Unibeast USB works, I have QE / QI and sound. Then I installed the kexts of battery (Voodoo), and one for my touchpad. Multitouch works, and the state of the battery. But I don't found the kexts for my network cards. Not idea of how to create a DSDT and SSDT :(

First of all, the first thing you should do is implement power management and boot from your HDD: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-haswell-laptops.html

By using VoodooBattery, you've installed a rollback AppleACPIPlatform which will cause issues with power management and other problems. For battery status, see: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/116102-how-patch-dsdt-working-battery-status.html

WiFi: Depends on having compatible hardware. Use DPCIManager->PCI List to find out what you have. Compatible chipsets and the procedures for making them work are covered here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

Ethernet: What Ethernet chipset do you have? Use DPCIManager->PCIList to find out.

Also, you'd be better off not using the Multibeast patch for "mixed" systems and instead do DSDT patches. The problem with that patch is the first update you apply will reverse it.

Here's some instructions for dealing with mixed systems via DSDT:

You have a mixed system... Sandy Bridge on 7-series board. To reach the installer you must remove all the Intel HD kexts (AppleIntelSNB*, AppleIntelFrame*, AppleIntelHD*). Save a copy of them for restoration after installation.

Start here with Multibeast (power management): http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...nagement-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-laptops.html

Then after you install, you'll need to patch DSDT to activate HD3000: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply:
"HD3000 Low Resolution"
"HD3000 on 7-series"

To make brightness slider in SysPrefs->Displays work:
"Rename GFX0 to IGPU"
"Brightness Fix (HD3000/HD4000)"
install: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Backlight

Don't forget to restore the graphics kexts you deleted earlier... because you removed them from the USB, they are also missing on your final install.

I follow the steps, and created the DSDT, but again to install Chimera or Chameleon bootloader appears kernel panics at startup.

Without a photo of the KP, no idea...

I have just installed the bootloader, is what alone gives me KP.

1. Install Mavericks to hard drive with the bootflags "-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No dart=0" with a USB mouse and keyboard.

2. At finish, create the DSDT with MaciASL. I patched "HD3000 on 7-series", "HD3000 Low Resolution", "Rename GFX0 to IGPU" and "Brightness Fix (HD3000/HD4000)"

3. I Deleted the kexts of Nvidia of S/L/E (NVDA* and GEFORCE*)

4. Run Multibeast, and install with this options:

"User DSDT.
3rd Party SATA
FakeSMC v.6.8.13.07
Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
AppleRTC patch fos CMOS Reset
Chimera v. 3.0.1
Basic boot options
Generate CPU States
Hibernate Mode - Desktop (i don't know what is that)
Use KernelCache
Macbook Pro 8.1
Theme tonymacx86 Black
Audio universal VoodooHDA v2.8.4
FakeSMC v6.8.1307 HWMonitor Application
USB 3.1 - Universal"

5. Then I make the SSDT with Probook Installer and set "GenerateCStates=No, GeneratePStates=No, DropSSDT=Yes and GraphicsEnabler=No" in org.chameleon.Boot.plist.

6. Reboot (with -v or nothing), the bootloader works (no more KP), Intel HD3000 graphics works with full aceleration and the brightness slider in SysPrefs->Displays, audio works with Voodoo.

7. I install with Kext Helper b7 the kexts for battery and touchpad (multitouch), your "ACPIBatteryManager.kext", and "ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext".

8. Reboot and multitouch works fine, and battery icon still in the taskbar.

9. So far everything works well, but I have a some problems:

- Systems lags, for example at open "Preferences" from the Apple icon at the taskbar (from the dock there is no problem).

- Rarely few artifacts.

- The HWMonitor app don't show the CPU temperatures or frequencies, only the temperatures of hard drive and battery.

- The laptop don't enter to sleep when I close the laptop lid.

- When the battery is low (0-1%), the PC isn't suspended, it suddenly turns off.

Finally I would like to ask how disable the Nvidia card by DSDT (Optimus Nvidia GT640m), and have sound with native AppleHDA (Realtek ALC271X, some kind of ALC269).

Thanks! :)

- Rarely few artifacts.

Try EC reset (use search).

- The HWMonitor app don't show the CPU temperatures or frequencies, only the temperatures of hard drive and battery.

You didn't install FakeSMC plugins.

- The laptop don't enter to sleep when I close the laptop lid.

Test sleep with Apple->Sleep first. Be aware of ~20 sec delay in Mavericks.

- When the battery is low (0-1%), the PC isn't suspended, it suddenly turns off.

Known problem. Turn your laptop off after you receive the warning.

Finally I would like to ask how disable the Nvidia card by DSDT (Optimus Nvidia GT640m),

Use search, there are many examples of how to do it here (call _OFF() from _INI in the SSDT with your discrete graphics code).

and have sound with native AppleHDA (Realtek ALC271X, some kind of ALC269).

Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"
