MacOS Ventura : HDMI doesn't work but HDMI via USB C passthrough works

Hi. I have a thinkpad T470 and ventura is working successfully with facetime, imessage and call transferring working perfectly. The issue is with HDMI. The on board HDMI port does not work but if I use a USB C - HDMI connector then it works. This works for now, but the connector cannot take high refresh rates. It will black out on any thing that has fast movements for a few seconds. Is there a way to fix this? Or something wrong with my config?
