macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Status
Not open for further replies.
AMD will release a new revision of Polaris cards that will have 50% improvements on performance and TDP. Do you think there will be a change in device ids?
Now i regrets buying my RX 470. :(

I agree and it may be better under a different system definition since I have the iMac 14.2 and could be throttled for TDP.

Hopefully the final drivers will bring the bench up to where it should be for the card. :)
Well, you're currently using beta drivers made for a different GPU - I wouldn't expect it to get everything out of your P10 card. ;)

Hi guys!
Finally after numerous attempts I made my AMD Radeon 260X work (acceleration works)!
I'm writing this here because many owners of this card may still suffer.

!It works when iGPU is primary only!
(in my case iGPU is on HDMI and GPU is on DVI)

My settings:
<key>FakeID</key>
<dict>
<key>ATI</key>
<string>0x66401002</string> (that's hd7790 id)
...
<key>Inject</key>
<dict>
<key>ATI</key>
<false/>
<key>Intel</key>
<false/>
<key>NVidia</key>
<false/>
...
<key>LoadVBios</key>
<true/>
...
<key>VRAM</key>
<integer>2048</integer>
<key>VideoPorts</key>
<integer>4</integer>

+ Plays 4k video h264
- poor 4k playback h265
- Engine heaven on low/no AA/no tessellation is 15 fps on avg (not very good)

So happy that I've found this discussion.

The 67DF definition is in the AMD9500controller kext but not in Baffin as of yet so don't despair. The 67EO definition could be this new card as of Beta 4 the 67FF definition in 4100kext works for the RX 480 if you apply the same fix as with 67EO.

About performance comparison to windows driver, i bet amd's official amdgpu-pro linux driver's performance isn't same to windows either :p :p

Can you reverse those and hook the igpu to dvi cable? I found that dvi limited the fps on all my benchmarks and screen resolution as well. Better yet, use HDMI for gpu and black screen boot.

Can someone help me with my R9 290? Do I need to patch any kext or set FakeID, FBName before setting IGPU to primary in UEFI? Or how do I make this card work in Sierra?
Hi, try this:

Devices > FakeID > ATI > 0X67B01002
Graphics > FBName > Baladi
Graphics > Inject > ATI > true
Graphics > Inject > Intel > true
KernelAndKextPatches > ATIConnectorsController > 8000
KernelAndKextPatches > ATIConnectorsData > 000400000403000000010300000000001204030300000000000400000403000000010100000000001102010100000000000400000403000000010200000000002103020200000000000400000403000000010400000000002205040400000000000400000403000000010500000000001000050500000000000400000403000000010600000000002001060600000000

And don't forget to boot with IGPU to primary in UEFI. Let me know if this works for you.

Black screen on HDMI unfortunately.

I also tried Injecting card id 66581002 using FakeSMC method and tried patching Exmoor and Baladi Framebuffers but it doesn't work. I only get unswitchable iGPU with rotating white preloader and glitchy apple logo.

Shall I try setting up Futomaki framebuffer?

Hi,
I am a beginner in hackintosh and i bought Asus AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB card. I tried to accelerate the card with the help of Phillip's Garage (
) Youtube Video. But I didn't get accelerated. Anybody help me to accelerate the card with screen shot or video.

Thank you
