macOS Sierra Does NOT Boot with MacPro3,1 MacPro4,1 System Definitions

Just checked - neither of those two things... I've been doing this long enough to know when I'm messing up, but not now. I've done a complete reinstall of El Cap on a new drive, new config file and everything, and it stays on 3.1 whatever I do.

Is your config.plist located on the EFI Partiton of the drive or is it on the OS Partition ?

Can you open Terminal and copy and paste the output of..

Code:
diskutil list

??

I need to do this after every reboot to confirm which partition to mount to allow my editor access to my config.plist as their location changes after each reboot :(

Plist Editor = Clover Configurator - https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/clover-configurator.276/
EFI Mounter = EFI Mounter v3 - https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/efi-mounter-v3.280/

Hi, i am new since 3 month in the Hackintosh world and i just did a clean install of sierra on my P8Z77-V Asus MB.

I have an i7-3770k and i would like to know if i will encountered problems if i set my SysDef on 14,2 ?

My bridge seems to correspond to a 13,2 iMac but i am asking if i take any risk to stay on Multibeast 9.0 default SysDef ?

Thanks for your help

Check everymac.com Macs against the listing of Macs that will run Sierra and use a system def that works with your hardware. These Macs will work, according to Macworld.com:

Macs that are compatible with macOS Sierra
  • iMac (Late 2009 and later)
  • Mac mini (2010 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2010 and later)
  • MacBook (Late 2009 and later)
  • MacBook Air (2010 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (2010 and later)

One of the issues I'm having with 14,2 is my audio is popping after not using for some time. One of the fixes previously was to use macpro system def. any suggestions on a fix? Obviously macpro is not a fix any longer.
Without knowing what your hardware is it is impossible to say. Please follow the Rules and enter your hardware properly in your profile and/or create a sig.

By changing my system definition from 3.1 to 14.2 suddenly all my USB ports r dead. Back on 3.1 they're working fine.

I'm on a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 rev. 2 (F9 Bios) with El Captain 10.11.6 (i followed this guide to set up my system https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/ga-p55-usb3-usb-support-installer.173919/ )

Anyone could help?

EDIT:

MB: GA-P55-USB3 rev. 2 (F9 Bios)
GPU: HIS AMD Radeon HD 7850 IceQ X Turbo (2048 MB)
CPU: Core i5 760
8 GB of RAM

You might want to try iMac11,1 or 11,2 or 11,3 since you have a 5-series motherboard. Since we don't know your process model # or graphics card model (hint, hint > update your profile per the forum rules), you can start with that iMac System Definition as it has the first generation i5/i7 processor.

None of them worked form me. Using MacPro 5.1 did the trick for me :).

EDIT: Just want to report SUCCESS upgrading from a existing el captain installation to sierra by using 5.1 system definition. everything works fine so far except my onboard audio (alc 892). GPU works OOB, Ethernet too, Wifi (i'm using a
WN881ND PCI Card) with some changes as mentioned here https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/tp-link-wn881nd-osx-10-10-5-not-appearing.175896/#post-1257766 too and USB also. Even my Dual Boot (Windows 10) is still working.

EDIT2: For audio use this https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC/blob/master/audio_cloverALC-120.command.zip I have no clue if this is the right way but in the past this script worked flawless for my needs as it do on sierra now.

Just like on el captain, sierra is rock stable with my selectes system components, no crashes, no hangs and no install problems.

EDIT3: After updating to 10.12.1, wifi doesnt work with my wn881nd - just repeat the steps as mentioned above.
