Update went fine, I used the combo update.

Only the new Cuda driver is missing for my Nvidia card.

I was hoping that the below release note might have fixed auto graphics switching on the Intel NUC during boot... but no dice, still have to turn monitor off/back on.

hmmm I don't seem to have this kext in System/Library/Extensions , am I looking in the wrong place?

Yes, your screen shot does not show up /S/L/E. /System is as always a hidden folder.

What is the fix/workaround for the CUDA driver?

Install the new CUDA driver - You can use the preference pane to do it.

Updated, everything is good, my GeekBench Compute result is nice.
This is my XFX RX 480 with the CU modification from 16 to 36. This RX 480 card has worked well in Sierra since last August and just seems to get better with age.

If you have a patched appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext you have to patch it again after the update. If you don't, you get a kernel panic
