Just upgraded SL to 10.7.2
Touch wood so far so good, even TeamViewer is working.
Thanks for your great guides  greatly appreciated

Can the values displayed in System Information be trusted?

I just installed my OS about an hour ago and it says I'm running 10.7.2 (11C74) also, I installed Xcode which it says is version 3.2.1 (4D502). All four of these values are exactly the same as on my Macbook which is completely up to date. But when I search for updates on my hackintosh it says there are three available, on my Macbook there are none.

Does the hackintosh need the update? If so I can't install it through Apple like on a normal system, can I?

Hey guys I had 10.7.1 up and running with full resolution and pretty stable with my HD6950, but when I installed 10.7.2 I can't get to my desktop.

I have a bootable backup of my 10.7.1 setup so going into my 10.7.2 partition to change/delete things is pretty easy. And I have restored 10.7.1 multiple times to try different methods of installation. Here is the first method that I tried (didn't reboot until after the last step):

1. Installed 10.7.2 combo update from apple
2. Installed the 10.7.2 package from netkas
3. Delete ATY_init
4. Added this to org.chameleon.Boot.plist
<key>PCIRootUID</key>
<string>1</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes </string>
<key>AtiConfig</key>
<string>Gibba</string>
5. Ran multibeast 4.2 and installed Chimera 1.7 along with the System Utilities option

Here is the second method:

1. Installed 10.7.2 combo update from Apple.
2. Without rebooting, installed the 10.7.2 package from netkas
3. Rebooted.

Here is the screen that I get when booting with a warm boot and no flags:

I am using Chimera 1.7

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just don't understand why I can get 10.7.1 running, but not 10.7.2.

...wrong topic... I've moved my question in DSDT zone :D

Hi all! this is my personal experience with ga-x58a-ud3r v.2 FB and two 460gtx nvidia cards in sli PEG 1 and 2 16x.
I tried for 3 days different installations of Lion 10.7.2, starting form a predited dsdt file apt to host 2 gtxs. I tried seldom everything. EFI stings included. I arrived to the sadly conclusion that a Lion 10.7.0 is a good compromise in order to have a stable machine with netkas patch on quadro 4000 nvidia drivers (256.02.25f1v1). Hoping fermi freezes stopped.
Infact, installing the combo update 10.7.2 at the following restart of o.s. (after apple hda rollback to be clear) occurs that the video output at login is swapped from PEG1 to PEG2 and viceversa according to bios settings. It didn't appear a suitable solution, so i rolled back to 10.7.0, even for preserving dual monitor output. Sorry for my poor english.

Please quote this post if solution is posted.

I was running 10.6.8 from tonymac's guide, install Lion with unibeast (USB) without a problem at all, I didn;t even had to run multibeast because after instalation everything was running ok, graphics, network and audio, run combo update 10.7.2 and again everything ok , no problems, I've already configure iCloud tu sync with my iPhone and iPad.

Hard to believe, 'cause 10.6.8 was not easy, in fact, the integration of it in a triple boot (win7, ubuntu 11.10 and OSX) was the hard part, and I only made a minor change in GRUB2 when I switch from SL to Lion, considering that bootloader of SL is on the EFI partition and Chimera in the SL partition.

The only thing I've got to see tomorrow is if there is any problems with software. Files, software were even preserved from SL to Lion and to 10.7.2.

I can't believe how much it changed from my first installation years ago.

My hardware:
Intel core 2 duo t6420, 4 Gb ddr2 667 mhz, motherboard Intel DG965WH, Nvidia 9500 GT
1 GB, 4 HD: sda 500 GB with Win7 and Ubuntu 11.10, sdb 250 Gb with OSX Lion, sdc and sdd 1 TB each for data, webcam working genius iSlim 1320, USB's working.

Only BIOS setting: AHCI.
Thanks, thanks a lot to Tonymac and all the team!!!!!!

10.7.2 updated with the software update fine. The only thing I had to do was reinstall AppleHDA.kext for sound.

CPU: Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz
Mobo: GA-P35-DS3L
Ram: 6GB @ 833 Interleaved.
Audio: ALC888
Video: 9800GT

I am getting a "Your machine could not be verified" error while trying to download Lion via the app store. I've tried various tricks to get it to work, but to no avail. iTunes works. From what I understand this is an ethernet problem (app store verifies through ethernet?), but the ethernet port on my mobo is broken.

Is it possible to upgrade an existing Snow Leopard hackintosh to Lion through different means? I had some trouble getting SL installed on this machine, and I was hoping to upgrade via what seemed a relatively easy process. But since I can't get Lion through the app store directly, is it possible to purchase a disc or drive from Apple and install it that way? Is it possible to do this on top of an existing install?

I apologize if this is not the right thread for this question.

Would it be possible to buy Lion on a different machine and transfer the installation files to mine? I see the USB drive from Apple is $70, and I'd rather not pay that much. All I need is the app store installation files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just don't understand why I can get 10.7.1 running, but not 10.7.2.

I actually got mine up and running. Here is what I did:

I had a bootable backup of 10.7.1 (created with carbon copy cloner before the update) and I booted into it. Then from there, I ran the most recent version of Multibeast and installed Chimera 1.7 and the System Utilities option onto the 10.7.2 partition. You won't be able to change the install destination until you are actually selecting what you want to install, so ignore the left panel because it will skip over "Destination".

For some reason this worked, even though that is exactly what I did when I installed the update in the first place.

Then, like every update, I had to reinstall my audio drivers (rollback and acl8xx).

I hope this helps!

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/ ... pdate.html

This thread is for Desktop users to discuss their update procedures and results. Good luck!

 :geek: :ugeek:

The 10.7.2 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac. It also includes support for iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services that automatically and wirelessly store your content on iCloud and push it to all of your devices. iCloud on OS X Lion includes the following features:

- iCloud stores your email, calendars, contacts, Safari bookmarks, and Safari Reading List and automatically pushes them to all your devices.
- Back to My Mac provides remote access to your Mac from another Mac anywhere on the Internet.
- Find My Mac helps find a missing Mac by locating it on a map and allows you to remotely lock the Mac or wipe all its data.

Getting started with iCloud is easy. After installing the update, OS X will automatically present an iCloud setup panel. Simply enter an existing Apple ID or create a new one and then follow the on screen instructions. To learn more about iCloud visit http://www.apple.com/icloud.

The 10.7.2 update also includes Safari 5.1.1 as well as fixes that:

- Allow reordering of desktop spaces and full screen apps in Mission Control.
- Enable dragging files between desktop spaces and full screen apps.
- Address an issue that causes the menu bar to not appear in full screen apps.
- Improve the compatibility of Google contact syncing in Address Book.
- Address an issue that causes Keynote to become temporarily unresponsive.
- Improve VoiceOver compatibility with Launchpad.
- Address an issue that causes a delay in accessing the network after waking from sleep.
- Enable booting in to Lion Recovery from a locally attached Time Machine backup drive.
- Resolve an issue that causes screen zoom to stop working.
- Improve Active Directory integration.
