Will the ATI HD 5770 run out of the box in 64bit when installing to 10.6.5 ? In combination with an GA-X58-UD3R ?
You still need an enabler. For 64-bit there are a couple of experimental solutions.

where can I find some ?

Search for the answer.

Sleep not working after update, any solutions?

More precise: wakeup doesn't work.

Have you redone the AppleHDA 10.6.2 rollback yet? After I reinstalled mine (through Multibeast and via a kernel panic) sleep worked again. Touch wood.

No, because i have an other soundcard (external via USB), but I'll try!
Thanks!

Great, Audio rollback needed for sleep (wakeup) to work! :rolleyes: :)
Thanks again!

success here...H55M-s2h

install 10.6.5 combo
reboot
install 10.6.2 AppleHDA
reboot
and it works :)

no need smbios with smcputype, rc5 619 detects as core i3

no geekbench result change

it is so easy with iBoot and MB... :)

thank you all

Update successful - smooth & fast install, some complications (FPS in 3d Games).

1 Ran the Combo-Update
2 After finished installation - NO reboot - started multibeast 2.4
- Checked "System Utilities" (Rebuild Caches, Repair Permissions)
- Checked Advanced Options -> kexts -> Audio -> LegacyHDA -> ALC889
- Checked Advanced Options -> kexts -> Audio -> HDAEnabler -> ALC889
- Checked Advanced Options -> kexts -> Audio -> AppleHDA 106.2 Rollback
- Checked Advanced Options -> kexts -> IOUSBFamily 10.6.2 Rollback
- Checked Advanced Options -> kexts -> USB 3.0 (but not tested yet)
- Checked Advanced Options -> smbios.plist -> Mac Pro -> i7
- Checked Advanced Options -> OSx86 Software
3 Restarted (power off, power on, boot)

Hardware:

GA-P55A-UD4
8 GB DDR 3 1333
i7 870
Club 3D 9800GT 1 GB

As I found out my FPS in the steam-source-engine games like counter strike source is down to 14 FPS - which is much to slow - checking the NVenabler did not solve the problem.

Really weird,

installed the 10.6.5, all seemed to go according to plan. Now my machine won't shut down.

Anybody got any ideas?

works fine ;-)

1. backup
2. test backup (boot from it)
3. update to 10.6.5
4. reboot (with no sound)
5. Multibeast -> AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback
6. reboot - with sound :D
This is what I did on both of my systems and so far everything seems to be working.

Hey there,

I just downloaded the Combo Update from a twitter link but "About this mac" still says 10.6.4. I will now try to install directly from software update menu.

same strange thing

what wrong?

go to /Library/Receipts and rename/remove InstallHistory.plist

then go to /Library/Updates and open up a random string folder as its title. Inside this folder run MacOSXUpd10.6.5Patch.pkg

Updated!:

Asus P7p55d-e Evo
I7 860
ASUS ATI 5770 1gb

No problem, all working.

Cinebench = Same scores

no issues with the 5770? i thought it had to boot into 32-bit mode and 10.6.5 automatically booted you into 32-bit mode? anything special you did?
