any solutions for sapphire radeon hd 6770

+1

thanks..

+2..
for now im trying to edit the 5000`s kext with an hex editor to replace the id of 5770 (68b8) with 6770 (68ba). I think that we can patch the kext if we dont want to patch the vga bios, but I had no success for now

any other ideas?
I recompiled chameleon and modfied ati.c, the vervet framebuffer loads but it dont seems to make any difference. so now my last hope is that we can edit the kext.

Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

may I add that poerpoint (full screen) slide show also was force quitting before the correct frame bufferer

just a question:

Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

Hi,
on 10.6.8 my hd5870 didn't work with GE=Yes
Now solved: GE=Yes AtiConfig=Uakari
DVD works. BenchMark works (6230)
Cinebench 28.07 (i think is good, isn't it?)

Also system profiler now see it as hd5870 and no more as hd5000

Only Lane PCIe is x4 instead Of x16 (as i suppose it has to be)
Anything about that x16??

Thanks notshy :headbang:

Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

Hi,
An am new to Hackintosh and have put together with intel DH55HC, core i3 and MSI radeon R5770. I just installed Lion using Xmove. When I boot with Chimera (chameleon) to Lion, I get both of my displays working, but no audio on HDMI. So audio is one of the issues. Plus, when I boot on Lion without CD, I don't get display on HDMI and main display graphics does not offer full options. Please help...
Thanks,
Likemac.

Try running DVD player with and without the CD.

What does DVD player have to do with hdmi sound?

Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

second edit Nov 30th
Reducing my OC a few 100Mhz fixed the problem of all the benchmarks. OC
They all report resonable increases for upgrade of 8400 to 5770.
All is WELL with my MSI r5770 and both 10.6.7 and 10.7.2
--------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
Installed MSI r5770 Performance reduced to less that 1/2 of previous with nVidia 8400GS
Tested with Geekbench and Cinebench. Both about 50% of previous.
I will post in a separate thread with details & asking for suggestions.
-----------------Previous Post No Replies----------------------------------
I hope what I want to do is easier than others-
MSI r5770. I only want to use it 10.6.7 with the DVI port. Single monitor.
Do I have to do anything other than:
ATIconfig=Vervet?

Why do I think it might be easier?
There is support for 5770 in new Chimera.
Do I have to install Chimera separately after using Multibeast 3.9 [the last one we are supposed to use with Snow Leopard]?
EDIT:
I ask because after reading much of this thread since March I do not know what I have to do NOW to make my card work properly.
Seems everything has changed with new Multibeast, New Chimera.

Another question:
I saw something about putting the FrameBuffer in com.apple.boot.plist [or the tonymac equal] in the EFI section. Is that the free form hex section that formerly came from OSX Tools/Studio? or does Chimera now support <key>Aticonfig</key> <string>TheFB thatNowWorks</string> ?

Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

Got my Gigabyte 6870 (1024MB) working! Finally!

I'm on Lion 10.7.2
Latest Chimera (rev 1691)
Had to set PCIRootUID to 1 in boot.plist

And that's it, pretty much.

Code:

Lower DVI port works as well as the HDMI port. I'll probably be able to test the displayport ports on Monday when I get the adapters.
