Hello,

I am trying to hackintosh my Laptop MSI GS70-2ODi581FD
I saw a "GS70 Development" Thread, a User has Reported everything works Pretty much on 10.9 except Card Reader and wifi

Specs:
Intel Core i5-4200H (Haswell) => HD Graphics 4600
Mainboard MS-1771, BIOS Version 50D
NVidia GeForce GTX 765M, 1920*1080

Setup:
Removed 2.5" 1TB HDD
Connected BLuray Drive / USB
Connected 1TB HDD via USB (empty)

BIOS Setup:
No HPET option in BIOS
No onboard graphics disable option in BIOS
Boot mode: Legacy (BIOS)
SATA: ACPI
USB Legacy Mode: Enabled
No option for sleep state

What I tried:
Tonymacx86 legacy iBoot Guide
Bought legal copy of 10.6 Snow Leopard from apple.com
Burnt iBoot-Haswell 1.0.1 on RW DVD
Boot from iBoot
Change DVD to SL
Press F5
Flags...
Press Enter
Seeing cryptic logs about loading kexts
Got ACPI Kernel Panic

Flags i tried:
-v (verbose, looks like I got kernel panic after webdav.kext)
-x
acpi=off
PCIRootUID=1 or 0
GraphicsEnabled=Yes or No

Everytime I get the same kernel panic
Does anyone now how to fix this error?
Thanks in advance,
Keks

What is your goal with Snow Leopard. SL does not support your hardware.

Thanks for your quick response!

I want to get Mavericks on my laptop
My plan was to get an bootable ISO of OS X.
- I don't want todownload it online (That's illegal isn't it?)
- I don't know anyone with a Mac
And Apple only sells Snow Leopard as DVD
I first wanted to run SL in a VM, upgrade to 10.6.8 and finally get 10.9 to Install it on a real computer
But my VM didn't work

so finally I decided to do everything without a VM and start with 10.6

And against the rules of this site.

You need to use iBoot Haswell, not iBoot.

RehabMan

Well, I used iBoot-Haswell 1.0.1 but that's giving me the Kernel Panic error :(
Are there any Flags for iBoot HaswEll i could try?

Just doesn't work no matter what I try

Can I put the SL image on a USB-Stick and patch the version manually to a newer one?
= Combo Update without a running Mac
(e.g. Copy all the files from a newer patch to the SL image overriding the old files)
Or is it illegal (and against the rules) to get patches without a Mac / Hackintosh

You should probably attempt to pre-patch DSDT/SSDTs...

If you had SL on a USB (image from your retail DVD), it offers more flexibility as you can remove kexts (eg. remove AppleACPIPlatform.kext).

It is easier to borrow a Mac and download a newer version of OS X...

Okay, I finally got access to a Mac and got Mavericks
I managed to install Mac OS X to an external hard drive using Linuxgirl's tutorial.

Thank you for your help !!
