I've updated to High Sierra but it doesn't boot anymore

Thanks a lot for all the help! I finally got it running.
The problem was something else though and in retrospect I wouldn't even have needed a clean install.
What happened was that after a clean install everything worked initially but after using the migration assistant to get back my data I was back to where I started. Meaning my system restarted at exactly the same time during the boot as before and I couldn't get it to work (a real bummer after hours of data migration..)
Anyway, that's when I booted in safe mode and had a closer look at the error report - the same one that I posted earlier. Long story short, lilu.kext was the problem. I followed the advice in this thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...s-in-backtrace-as-vit96969-lilu-1-1-6.243945/ to fix it. (I did use the most recent version of lilu.kext though). Now I can boot and NVidia card is also working already. Only sleep and audio is missing. But both things didn't work on Sierra either, unfortunately.
Anyway, hope it's useful to someone, since it's a 5 minute fix to a problem I spent days with.
Thanks again for the support!

Glad you got [almost] everything working. Audio shouldn't be a problem as your MB uses the ALC1150 codec. Use Multibeast to enable it.
To start troubleshooting sleep, first check that Apple power management is working correctly. Also check to see if there is an app that is preventing sleep. In terminal enter pmset -g assertions to see what is not allowing sleep

Unfortunately this doesn't do anything. It still doesn't show up in my system.
I also added AppleHDA.kext to my kexts (taken from the High Sierra installer) because I read somewhere about it. But still I can't see my soundcard.

What do you mean you added AppleHDA.kext?

delete the AppleHDA.kext from wherever you installed it. From Multibeast, you need to first d othe 100 /200 /300 series Audio support, then install ALC1150.

Somewhere on this forum I read that a possible fix is to install this via Kexbeast.

If I remember correctly I did install the ALC1150 and only after that - since it didn't work - I also installed the 100/200/300. I guess there's the problem.
Anyway, meanwhile I've installed AppleALC as per this thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/applehda-realtek-audio-guide.234732/ and now I see 2 line outs and 1 integrated speaker in my system as output options. The "integrated speaker" actually gets a signal to the headphone/line out. The other two don't seem to do anything, but for now I only need one stereo out anyway.

As for the Sleep Mode, I include my longest console output. Depending on when I run it, "InternalPreventSleep" is not always present. But Sleep mode doesn't work then either. Same for ExternalMedia, Sleep Mode doesn't work with the external disk unplugged either.

Looks like one of your external devices is the culprit. You might also try changing the value in darkwake, or toggle FIX_WAK in Clover.

As for the audio, I replicated what you did
here are relevant entries in config.plist:
Acpi
change HDAS to HDEF
select FixShutdown and AddHDMI
Boot
darkwake=0
dart=0
NeverHibernate
Kernel and Kext Patches
Apple RTC
KernelPm

Put Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext in /L/E, remove all AppleHDA patches from config.plist, make sure you have the original AppleHDA.kext in /S/L/E

With these settings audio worked as expected from the green audio output
