I get no output whatsoever though now.

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean that when you do:

sudo dmesg | grep AppleIntelE1000

that you get no output? If so, then your kext is not loading. Remove IONetworkingFamily kext from /S/L/E and replace with one that tonymacx86 has posted a few post ago. Repair permission of your OS partition with DiskUtility. Then drag /S/L/Extensions to Kext Utility to make a new Extensions.mkext or do the commandline kextcache method. Reboot and then hopefully you'll see AppleIntelE1000 loading. Check with:

sudo dmesg | grep AppleIntelE1000

Have you tried Kext Utility to create caches? Much easier.

I tried installing Tonys kext via kext helper, after installing, the kext helper isnt quitting
properly, I need to force quit. After repairing permissions and reboot my card is detected
but connection isnt established.

In terminal after typing - "sudo dmesg | grep AppleIntelE1000"
I get this line alone : "AppleIntelE1000e: Ethernet address 00:1C:C0:FE:e4:F1"
nothing else.

Tell me where I am wrong.

• Removed current IONetworkingFamily kext using sudo rm.[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• Installed new kext using Kext Helper.[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• Repaired disk permissions with Disk Utility.[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• Dragged /S/L/Extensions to Kext Utility. At "Packing new Extensions.mkext", received the error "Sorry, could not create Extensions.mkext".[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• Deleted /S/L/Extensions.mkext.[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• Rebooted.[/*:m:3aop0mug]
• "sudo dmesg | grep AppleIntelE1000" gives no output. Selecting "Network" in System Pref freezes the window.[/*:m:3aop0mug]

I got it now.

My Intel 82578DC port is working fine.

I did a fresh installation of SL, followed Boot Cd method.
In STEP 3:4, I dragged Tonys IO netwoking family kext to kext helper

After repairing permissions (I didnt check for ethernet access )

Installed 10.6.2 update, then Voodoo kexts, then I ran kext utility, restarted.

Checked Network in Sys Pref while clicking ethernet it automatically configured
settings and amber light turned to green.

Am posting this from Mac OS .

Now in INTEL DP55WG main board except firewire everything works fine!

I would recommend this board.

I have a problem generating DLHost ID

This is required for Autodesk Smoke installation

Am getting error messages though it shows exact ethernet address

I thought of extending my trial with this card for another month
