Integrated and Discrete Graphics, Working Together

Alright so I have a Z87X-UD46 that has an onboard HD4600 with a GTX 770 added on. Following this thread I have both chips recognized sort of but it appears as though only the integrated card is doing any work?

I have one display hooked up to the motherboard's dvi connector, the other to the 770, I start a game on the monitor that is connected to the card and get significantly lower fps than when I have the integrated graphics disabled and run both monitors off the 770.

In addition as you see from the screenshot under displays it states that both are running on the HD4600, yes in system profiler is breaks it out how you would expect with one display on each.

The difference in performance is dramatic enough that something is definitely not right but it's odd because I don't get a failure, I'm getting video out of physical ports, but the performance tanks when I try to do this.

I have an 860w power supply so I wouldn't think it would be insufficient power, and when I am using just the 770 I hear the fans crank up when it starts to work. I do not hear this when testing using both enabled.

Any thoughts?

Here is the LuxMark benchmark OpenCL test result (attached), after following your guide.

I have dedicated ATI AMD Sapphire HD7870 graphics and integrated Intel HD 4600 graphics in my System configuration.

I see that the the names of these graphics card are listed little differently on the test result. (AMD Radeon HD Pitcairn PRO Prototype Compute... and Iris Pro)

However, the Max. Global Memory for each of them indicates that they are the same ones as my configuration. (2097152 Kb for the dedicated one and 1572864 Kb for the integrated one)

Toleda, request you to please help me with the two questions below:

1.) Am I all set? Is everything in place?
2.) Also, is there a way at any given point of time that I can check which graphics or how much or each graphics is being used? Any softwares or methods to get this information at any given point?

Only thing I did differently from your guide was to set the SMBIOS in clover to iMac 14,2. Could this have caused the naming of the graphics to result up differently in benchmark?if so, is it mandate to leave the SMBIOS deselected? or can I still go ahead and use the same configuration?

Another thing to note, when I check system report>Graphics/Displays, it shows the correct graphics card models there.(screenshot attached)

Awaiting your thoughts! :)

Your guide was extremely helpful and thanks a lot for taking out your time to help others!! :)

I had an issue, but on further reading, understand that dual monitors need to be attached 1 to discrete and 1 to IGFX which I have now done hence edited my problem report.
