Integrated and Discrete Graphics, Working Together

Is there any benefit to running this setup versus running with the PEG as primary? Both work fine for me, just wondering if it makes a difference besides what GPU Photoshop decides to use.

This method requires IGPU as primary, see Post #1/Settings

I know that. I'm just wondering is there a benefit to setting up AP mirroring with IGP primary or setting up AP mirroring with PEG primary. My system works either way.

Tried to boot with both iGPU Intel HD 530 and PCIe Graphics NVIDIA GTS 250.
It works but very strange. Some system icons aren't displaying properly as you can see.

But generally system works little bit smoother than with only iGPU or NVIDIA.
Also I got better benchmark results. Luxmark shows 2071. With only NVIDIA card it was only around 500 points.
In system report it shows only NVIDIA card, but in Geekbench and LuxMark I can see both cards. Hardware encoding also shows that it doesn't work. :(

macOS 10.12.5
I used one monitor connected via DVI to the NVIDIA card. In BIOS I've set Primary graphics to PCIe, Intel MultiMonitor = Enabled. Memory = 96M.
For HD 530 I used lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
In config set Patch Rename HDAS to HDEF
Inject Intel = NO;
ig-platform-id - empty.
In devices section I have two lines with IntelGFX.
NVIDIA GTS 250 just need InjectNVIDIA = yes. (no web driver)

I will try more times with different settings but maybe someone knows how to fix this icons glitch and how to enable hardware encoding.

What happens with both monitors on HD4600?
4k monitor goes to sleep. other one stays on but shows a black screen with blinking cursor instead of the apple boot logo. then a black screen on login.

What happens with OS X Nvidia drivers?
Nothing different with original setup and on the hd 4600.

I'm trying to make this work on Sierra 10.12.5 with Intel 530 and nVidia GTX 1060
When IGPU set as primary and HDMI plugged in iGPU, the screen stays at boot logo but the system boots (I can check with Screen Sharing)
If the screen is plugged into eGPU it works OK.
I have read almost every post about this but I just can't make it work.
Right now I'm using Lilu and IntelGraphicsFixup to get the system to boot whit HDMI display connected to iGPU HDMI, but If i hotplug to another display or DP, it logs me out of my user account and I get stuck on black screen until I use an eGPU port.
