Hi, guys!

So I'm having an issue with my install. I believe that I've properly configured my BIOS to support Mac OSX, as well as having compatible hardware. Clover loads up fine through UEFI, and I'm able to select Mac OSX to boot into. Here is a link to my computer specifications (through CPU-Z).

Also, I've tried running with multiple boot flags such as -x, -v, PCIRootUID=1, and GraphicsEnabler=1. Here is a picture of the text that shows up in verbose mode.

Here's a link to the image.

Cheers!

seems there are several people with this issue (just by looking through the forums)..but I guess there is no solution...I NEVER see any replies to the Original Post....did you happen to figure this out?

Yep - I too am having the same issue. The only thing I could think of is that I have the Nvidia EVGA GTX950 card installed. But I did set the boot flag of nv_disable=1 on the clover boot screen options.

If anyone has advice on this it would be greatly appreciated as I am dead in the water until I get it sorted.

I'm not sure if this will help anyone but at least I got the progress bar to start going before it hangs. (But now it just goes through the motions and doesn't complete the install). Anyway I realized that in my BIOS settings I hadn't changed the "XHCI Handoff to Enabled"

So now I'm further but not successful in the install.

thanks, I read about that earlier..but my BIOS in this Alienware Aurora R4 doesn't seem to have such settings......the settings in this computers BIOS are very simple....

Hi guys,

did some find a solution?

thanks

Hi guys,

did some find a solution?

thanks
I did manage to find a solution. Here is a description of everything I did to make it work:

———————

BIOS Settings for GA-Z170X-UD5 TH

MIT>Advanced Fequency Settings

•XMP Memory > Profile 1

•XHCI Handoff > Enable

•Chipset > VT-d > Disable

Other BIOS

•Optomized Defaults

•VT-d > Disable

•Secure Boot Mode > Disable

•Windows OS > Other OS

•IO Serial Port > Disable

•XHCI Handoff > Enable

——————

Create El Capitan Installer from Download to Applications Folder

(mine is V10.11.6)

•Prepare Bootable USB Drive - This step extracts the OS X Installer contents, then installs Clover bootloader to the USB stick.

•Insert the USB drive

•Open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

•Highlight the USB drive in left column

•Click on the Partition tab

•Click Current and choose 1 Partition

• Click Options…

•Choose GUID Partition Table

•Under Name: type USB

•Under Format: choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

•Click Apply then Partition

—then—

•Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal type string:

sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app --nointeraction

(takes about an hour in the shell)

(this changes the El Capitan Installer so that it will actually go through the full progress bar and allow you to actually format your drive and go through the installation process)

This is all noted here:

——————————

Run Unibeast 6.2.3

•Click Continue, Continue, Continue, Continue, Agree

•At Destination Select, choose USB

•At Select OS Installation screen choose El Capitan

•At Bootloader Options screen choose UEFI Boot Mode

•At Graphics Configuration screen choose NONE! (otherwise your screen will go blank if you inject legacy Nvidia drivers)

•Click Continue, enter password and click Install

(takes about an hour)

—————————

Insert USB into PC/Hackintosh USB 2.0 port

•Boot up and hit F12

•At Clover boot screen, choose Boot Mac OS X from USB

(takes about 1 minute or 2)

•At welcome screen (success thus far!) go to Utilities>Disk Utility

•Highlight your target drive for the El Capitan installation in left column.

•Click Erase button

•For Name: type El Capitan (You can rename it later)

•For Format: choose OS X Extended (Journaled)

•For Scheme: choose GUID Partition Map

•Click Erase

•Run the El Capitan Installer

(takes about 20 minutes)

•Reboot with USB Stick still inserted (will not boot because the EFI mounter is not configured with the native drive yet)

——————————

Copy Mulibeast, EFI Mounter V3, Clover Configurator.

•Start Multibeast and select these options:

-Quick Start -> UEFI Boot Mode

-Drivers -> Audio -> Realtek ALCxxx -> ALC1150 & 100 Series

-Network -> Intel -> IntelMausiEthernet v2.1.0d0 (would the v2.1.0d3 work? Not sure.)

-Drivers -> USB -> Increase Max Port Limit

-Customize -> System Definition -> iMac 17,1

(this has advantages but maybe not good for addressing 64GB or RAM?)

(don't install the nvdia drivers!)

•Eject USB Stick (temporarily)

•Run EFI Mounter V3

-Select Native drive (should be the only option now)

-Mount EFI Partition

(now you should be able to boot without the USB Stick)

•Run Clover Configurator

-Acpi > check FixShutdown

(solves the problem of your computer rebooting a few seconds after you think it has been shut off. This is apparently a problem with this motherboard and Nvidia GTX-9xx series video cards)

-Devices > make sure your Audio ID is 1 if you want typical computer audio.

•Reboot

————————————

Go back to BIOS settings

•Set Boot option one to EFI Partition on native drive

•Save and Exit

--------------------------

Go onto web and download whatever you want driver-wise

I got the following:

•Wacom Drivers 6.3.15-3 for old Intuos 3 tablet

•Wacom Drivers 6.3.17-5

•Google Chrome

•NVIDIA WebDriver-346.03.15f02

•CUDADriver-7.5.3.0

•SuperDuper!

•CarbonCopyCloner

———————————————

Now would be a good time to clone the drive since you’ve probably been at it for some time.

•Use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!

cd

•Reboot with USB stick

•Eject USB

•Run EFI Mounter and mount Vol

•Run Multibeast again (same config)

•Reboot with nothing else plugged in to verify

————————————————

Install NVIDIA Graphics Card

•Make sure to plug in the power cable

(once you install the card the on-board video doesn’t appear to work)

•Boot up and now the display looks all funky

•Run EFI Mounter

•Install NVIDIA Driver (note which build of MacOSX 10.11 you have)

•Open your Clover config.plist using text edit and scroll till you see <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key>

In that section you will want to add the following:

<key>KextsToPatch</key>

<array>

<dict>

<key>Comment</key>

<string>(c)Pike R. Alpha</string>

<key>Find</key>

<data>

Ym9hcmQtaWQ=

</data>

<key>Name</key>

<string>AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy</string>

<key>Replace</key>

<data>

Ym9hcmQtaXg=

</data>

</dict>

Save your config and now your kext will be patched when you boot by changing board-id to board-ix

•Run Clover Configurator

-Edit config.plist

-Go to Boot Section> check nvda_drv=1

•Reboot (hopefully you will now have a functioning system!)

•Install CUDA Driver for increased performance that rely on it

FINAL Bits

•Install remaining RAM Sticks (the machine actually recognized all of the DIMMS as 16GB each making a total of 64GB)

•Install TP-Link wireless adapter (no drivers needed - the computer just recognized it)

———————And DONE!!!———————

Wow! Thanks a lot!
