Sorry I meant there is no macpro3,1 listd in AGPM, but then is that because its a baseline?..

The Nvidia drivers I am wary of, I did download and run the package the other day, was denied because of incompatible system, changed it to one of recommended and it still wouldnt work, so extracted the .Kexts and add them through the normal process, I then had KP's regarding the NVRas or some such, but that said Graphicsenabler was still yes.. would that have made a difference perhaps?...

Ill try these again tonight, but I am tempted almost with the change of card to refresh the system install, all a learning curve.

I couldn't get a DSDT for my ASUS P8h6 board so never went down that route, just mulitple kexts sadly

Here are the scores from two of my machines Sapphire Radeon HD5770 and HD6870.

A fresh install might be in order. The reason the nVidia drivers wouldn't install is because your system identifier was set to iMac instead of MacPro.

I think you're right, the reason MacPro 3,1 doesn't appear in AGPM is because that system identifier doesn't manage the power of the graphics card at all (hence consumes more power, but should perform well). That's why I suggested using it as a "baseline", i.e. to figure out how your card "should" perform, and then making the edits so that MacPro5,1 performs just as well, but uses less power.

The nVidia drivers should work with graphicsenabler off.

Thought I'd post my Nova bench score-was wondering if anyone else is using
a Biostar HD5670 (1GB), and if their score is similar. Windows is so much better.
If anyone has similar system parts with better or worse scores, let me know if
we can help each other out, Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 as a MacPro 3.1

New install running great, updated Aperture and Itunes with no problems. Any suggestion to increase performance?

TIA!

Well, here's some evidence that my install is not capable of using all the power it should be able to exploit:

Anyway I still love that system, especially with my new triple monitor setup :)

I was thinking about getting a used samsung qx411-w01 to use for hackintosh. I can trade it with someone for free.
Just wondering how hard it was for you to set it up. And your method. Any help would be great.
